Rand Paul is the embodiment of what I mean that modern American libertarianism is just fascism but with vapid meaningless terms like "freedom" and "individual liberty" just spammed to death to make the public think that's actually their values.

Silicon Valley Money Men Are Buzzing About Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and others are praising presidential candidate

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/silico...obert-f-kennedy-jr-3b5dea5e?mod=hp_lista_pos3

    excerpt:

Silicon Valley loves a contrarian, which is why some tech luminaries threw their support to Republican Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020. This time around, Kennedy, a Democrat, is the one getting the antiestablishment buzz in the tech world.

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has recently voiced support for Kennedy, who is running against President Biden for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. Kennedy has been feted by a handful of other tech titans, including SPAC king Chamath Palihapitiya and David Sacks, a founding executive of PayPal and trusted ear to Elon Musk. Mark Gorton, founder of the now-closed file-sharing website LimeWire, started a PAC that supports Kennedy.

They say they like his willingness to go against the status quo.

“Mr. Kennedy’s campaign is about the future, not the past,” said former congressman and Kennedy campaign manager Dennis Kucinich. “People in the tech community want a president who is forward-looking, who wants to expand America’s role in technology, has respect for data privacy and is profoundly creative in his approach toward government.”

Polls have generally put Kennedy in the teens. Silicon Valley power brokers such as LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings are backing Biden, who is expected to be the nominee.

I think this guy is one flew over the cuckoo's nest, but I will give him this, he has ideas that are outside the box.....I think there a bit wacky but its better then woke this woke that, cancel this cancel that, at least we know what his vision is, I dont agree with it but he`s laying it out. I was disappointed when I saw Ron D not answer the question on the 6 week abortion ban and what he thinks of Ukraine during the CNN interview, he would not commit to a strategy or position which normally leads me to believe you don't want the folks to know what your plan is and I think that's a point against him, when you're not committed then people will assume the worse, you know what your platform is, say it out loud

I'd say either is bad news, but Trump is much more of a liar, and a flaming sociopath. He made all kinds of BS promises last time, which never happened. DeSantis is way too far right wing for my liking, and a big hypocrite, but I wouldn't call him sociopathic. He's just a gay hating right wing "Christian" and shady as hell.

He's just using science, that most learned people in the medical field know about, and putting his conspiratorial spin on it because he knows how gullible and ignorant people are.....

.... because clearly COVID-19 is the first time we realized diseases, viruses, and health conditions are based on ethnicity.

CNN now saying the same thing via a Nature study: https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/19/heal...ublished in the,Covid-19 without any symptoms.

RFK doesn't strike me as someone who pulls stuff out of his ass. The man has conviction, and he is running to avenge his dad and uncle. He's an old school Democrat. His policies and views align with democrats you used to see 20 years ago versus the neo-con ones we have now

And even entertaining the fact covid19 was man-made, it isnt so far out to think it could be designed to target certain groups. we have things like cosmetic products created in labs that target certain groups. what makes people think the same couldn't be done with a bioweapon?

It is fascinating how easy it is for him to have become so popular on the right so fast. It really just speaks to how dull the Mike Pences and the Tim Scott’s are as candidates.

The problem is Steve Bannon and co. propped him up with the hope that he’d be popular on the left and drive a wedge in the Dem party in order to help Trump… and because he’s taking positions that mostly attract the QAnon maga right, he’s now more of a liability for splitting the Trump vote if he switches to third party on the ticket.

If he’s third party will there be a large amount of single issue voters that literally vote for him knowing that their vote is actually for Trump in this case and Trump is a criminal who opens talks about suspending the Constitution??? … maybe but I think given the weight of the situation anyone under that pretense makes that decision is using bitcoin as an excuse to do what they were actually wanting to do in the first place. Some minor Bitcoin economic policy changes vs the US economy operating under a newly found autocratic regime vs continuing to operate as the world leader on the global market, seems like small potatoes to me.

The fact is there are few autocratic regimes that have strong economies that have a strong consumer class of citizens. If those bitcoin fans are being objective even they will be able to see what a colossal mistake it would be to vote RFK in a manner that gives a vote to Trump.

Then you weigh in how many single issue bitcoin voters there are vs how many Trump voters there are that might vote RFK just so they can try to save face in their social lives and it’s still probably a loser to have RFK on the ballot as a third party or write in for Trump based on the sheer numbers that RFK is attracting on the right.

This reads like a fantasy. Something someone wishes were true but in actuality aren't. you are over here talking about single issue voters yet failing yo realize most of RFK's stances are old school Democrat stances. you think cause he champions vaccine choice or wants off the Fed (like his Dad and Uncle) that he is somehow "alt-right"? I love that this kind of tactic doesn't work anymore. The political game has changed. This isnt 2012.

Look I can only speak to my experience in my daily life constantly interacting with MAGA voters. The issues that animates them as voters in 2023 are essentially QAnon adjacent issues and conspiracy theory rooted which aligns with what you are alluding to in the anti fed everything attitude.

Every now and then there is an issue with something like immigration and the border but when you press them on why it ultimately comes down to racial motivation more than economic issues etc. RFK has openly espoused racist and antisemitic views.

It might seem like a fantasy but the truth is it’s a reality from my perspective living here in Texas constantly surrounded by MAGA voters. They are in my family, I work with them, and I’m friends with many of them in the community that I live in. The
school board member recently voted in who was funded by a Trump supporting cell phone provider (Patriot Mobile) openly retweets and posts videos of RFK stuff.

So maybe Texas and this area of North Texas in particular are fantastical bubbles where in normal Red counties it’s different but in my world… RFK is really freaking popular on the right…. Hence making him a threat to pull away Trump voters in my district.

The few Dem voters I know usually only talk about these issues:

-anger about school board issues/destruction of public education in Texas
-Anger about abortion rights in Texas
-fear about Texas and the US becoming right wing Christian autocratic
    -voting rights
-expanding health care and health care expenses
    etc.

I don’t hear any of them animated by QAnon adjacent conspiracy theories like RFK fans are. Maybe once in awhile they’ll talk about UFO’s and whatnot but it’s not an animating voting issue. Most are animated as voters on those issues which is far different then what I see animates my MAGA heavy community I interact with. Maybe I’m missing something but does anyone know what RFK has said on the campaign trail so far on public education, or voting rights or expanding health care or women’s rights, etc? Maybe he does but the only viral moments that come my way via Trump supporters are essentially conspiracy theory rooted rather than focused on these issues.

But yes maybe north Texas is a fantasy bubble different than other right wing communities. That is a possibility I’ll admit.

    Other things that genes impact:

    - Heart disease
    - Alzheimer disease
    - Diabetes
    - Cancer
    - Obesity
    - almost every disease known to humans

Example of disease prevalence by race:

    - Alzheimer (African American 13.8%, Asian 8.4%)
    - Skin cancer (Asian 1 case per 100k, non-Hispanic white 28 cases per 100k)

@Scarface281 Since you seem to be a supporter and follower of RFK Jr., I'd appreciate it if you care to enlighten me what are RFK's positions on:

    -public education
    -expanding healthcare access
    -climate
    -gun safety
-protecting Democracy from autocratic takeovers or just Democracy in general

    Thanks

I really do not like RFKJR but this issue is extremely important to me.

Might have to hold my nose and vote for him.

Another way to look at it: RFK's hard currency standard would handicap our ability to defend our country.

Yeah, looks alt-right to me. I think the anti-semitic accusation is bs, but his deep distrust of the federal government and the power and role of government to make people's lives better is more in line with the political philosophies of Reagan, libertarians, states'-rights folks, and the anarcho-capitalist tech bros than it is with any Democrat since the civil rights era.
