Huh? Rodman was a way better offensive player. Ridiculous comparison

The problem with comps to PJ Tucker or other all defense and no offense players was that these other guys knew their limitations, thus limiting their negatives on offense while still bringing the positive on the other end.

Tucker and Rodman for instance averaged 5.8 FGA per game for their careers. Brooks averages 13.1.

Sure you could say Brooks is a better offensive player than either of those two, but the problem is it still makes him one of the worst offensive options in the league. When those players insist on high volume they become more negative than their positives can make up for.

We really have to hope Udoka can convince Brooks to at least stop taking pull up 3s. Take those away and his shooting numbers go from awful to meh.

Imagine deke deciding to shoot 15 jumpers per game, even he would have a hard time overcoming that with his defense

His shot selection needs work that's undeniable. He needs the Morey shot chart model (3s and layups). If he takes that approach, which will take a collective effort from coaching staff, FVV, etc then he will be just fine. That's certainly not a given and I understand. Brooks wasn't my first choice going into the offseason, but I do respect the defense intensity, defensive skill and study, and toughness... all 3 things severely needed on this team.

Where are you getting single most damaging non center?

If you look at something like basketball reference OBPM, he was literally dead last in the entire league among all players at all positions, so that rates him as the single most damaging offensive player in the league. RAPTOR does like him a lot more, he was 225/250 which is much better then dead last.

Remember Trevor Ariza? You can say his first stint here he thought he was "The Guy" and it wasn't a good. But he went to a few different teams & came back a player that embraced his role as a 3&D player. The point is players can learn, but you gotta give them time to. I think Brooks will have a HUGE impact on this team

Roman was a better offensive player than what?
Ben Wallace? True. But still, the comparison is still viable....

Chuck Hayes and late career Dikembe Mutombo fall in a faint. (They usually aren't guards though)

He is at his worst when creating for himself.

Catc and shoot 38% from 3. It will be interesting to see if he embraces a role or demands to create. One imagines he is the last option out of the 5 probable starters.

Wait, is the "plus incentives" part new? So he could actually get more than $86 million?

Not new, but yeah, it's in addition to the $86M is my understanding. Not much more than that, to be fair, the incentives are pretty small. But it's pretty insane.

thought it was a sht contract @ 80 mil for 4 years, seeing it's now 86 mil with potentially going to 90 mil makes me doubt stone's ability to negotiate

Dillon-ger Brooks robbed the Rockets cap space(bank) with a water gun, for a potential 90$mill

Doesn't get more gangsta than that
