My days and nights are always great! When you're covered, life can't be no other way but great! I just want my Rockets to win a chip! And playing small ball ain’t it. Case in point, I was listening to JJ Reddick during the Vegas Summer League game and the other announcer asked him, do he think the NBA is going big again with one big. So teams are doubling up on bigs. At first he said yes but then he recanted and said, they are going 5 OUT but with TWO bigs who can shoot the 3, similar to Milwaukee with Lopez and Giannas. Which is why I have been saying we need another big. I think the Rockets are going to make another trade. OKC is long, Dallas has three centers now and looking to trade for another, Memphis is long, the Pelicans are long....we need to be able to matchup

Keep moving goalposts. Memphis and New Orleans aren’t bigger than current Rockets. They don’t have a player listed at 7’ and have as many players as we do at 6’11 Dallas has a rookie in Lively and freaking Javale McGee.
This whole thread pretty much sucks Summer league was fun but we we put a bunch of randos on the court and I don't give a damn if they didn't win the title game. If you feel the same way once our actual roster starts playing real games, then maybe this is a conversation worth having. No point in crying because Jermaine Samuels and Darius Days didn't get it done
Bruh, please read my original post. I used the Summer League game as an analysis of how size matters and how we still are lacking along the frontline....SUMMER LEAGUE WAS ONLY AN EXAMPLE. The summer league is just that, summer league, no one cares about the results. If you just use our divison as an example, last yr we were abused by Memphis (Adams), Pelicans (Valaciunas), Dallas (Powell and McGee) they added Lively this yr and looking to trade for Capella. My whole post was about how we still need an additional player with size.
Length and size do matter - but the Rockets are not close to a finished product. Alpren Sengun had a 7’0” wingspan before he grew another couple inches … so he likely has like a 7’1” wingspan. Not great for a center but I think he will ultimately be a PF anyway. Jabari Smith is 6’11” with a 7’1” wingspan, which is good for a 4 and exceptional for a SF. Tari Eason is 6’8” with a 7’2” wingspan as a small forward. Jalen Green is 6’4” with a 6’8” wingspan. Doesn’t sound great but he will mostly guard point guards. AmenThompson is 6’7” with a 7’0” wingspan. Cam Whitmore is going to play a lot of two IMO, and he is 6’5.5” and has a 6’9” wingspan. These are the long term pieces of the Rockets - this is a very very long group with long wingspans and a number of them have verticals between 38-44 inches. What’s missing? A long term center, but they will get one - I don’t think size, length or athleticism will be a problem down the road.
Adams and Jonas are listed at 6’11. Alp and Jonas were eye to eye last year. It burns you up that Alp is 7’ in shoes, you don’t have anything else you can find wrong with him. Besides the obvious reason for you
Alp had a 7’1 wingspan at 6’9. He’s probably a 7’2-7’3 wingspan at 6’11. Not elite but right around average for centers

I would pay good money to see Alpren wearing platforms, fishnets and a goth skirt while draining threes off the bounce.
I don’t think Sengun is long term a starting center for the Rockets, I think long term he is going to be a PF. His size is okay for a center, but his issue is a lack of shot altering. I think defensively he would look very solid at the 4 - with a very long and active center next to him…. I’m sure they will play him at the 5 out of necessity this year - but there is a reason they went so hard after Brook Lopez.
That’s my favorite Jordan era - It was the “I can get away with a Hitler stache” era of 2010-2012…. No body ever called his out on it either because he is the GOAT of GOAT’s.
