Who is the bigger playoff choker, Embiid or Harden?

I wouldn't describe harden as a choker, he made it further in playoffs multiple time and just fell short.

The haters on the other hand it seems like mainly for harden no ring = choker.

With that definition probably harden, he made it further in playoffs more often than embiid i think and has a longer career of not winning it all.

 

Embiid is one of the worst playoff performers in history when it comes to dropoff. I'm shocked he has escaped scrutiny from all the Lin-worshipping losers hating on Harden in the playoffs. I have a soft spot for Harden because he took us further than anyone has since Hakeem, but the dude has some serious problems upstairs to play like a MVP one game and then a scrub the next. Maybe the narrative would have been slightly different if the Warriors didn't exist (or CP3/refs etc.) but it is what it is.

So yea, Embiid 100%. Arguably better supporting cast, 100% playing against weaker competition, historical dropoff AND hasn't made it as far as Harden. Easy choice.

 

Embiid keeps getting hurt around or during playoff time and playing when obviously nowhere near 100%. I don't know if it's necessarily that he's a choker so much as that he's injury-prone.

Imagine Joel Embiid being benched the entire 4th quarter in an elimination game.

Imagine Joel Embiid losing at home by 40 points without the opposing teams best player.

Imagine Joel Embiid turning the ball over 13 times in an elimination game and setting a playoff record.

James Harden has 2 conference finals appearances outside of his early years being carried by KD/Westbrook.

Embiid has zero conference finals appearances but at age 29 I’ll bet he gets there at least twice by the time he’s Harden’s age with a legit non choking sidekick. James Harden and Morey really wasting Embiid’s prime/time. He really should demand a trade. Can’t win shiit with a loser like Harden around. Already wasted 2 years with Brick Ross.

 

The ways they "choke" are different. Embiid basically has lower performance in the playoffs. You can see it in the comparison of his RS stats and playoffs stats. Harden's overall playoffs stats aren't significantly worse than his RS. He just disappears in some crucial games in the playoffs, especially elimination games.
