Yep, we got sweeped by the A's in a 3 game series last year. Don't care if we don't win the division or not, we can do damage in the playoffs if Altuve/Alvarez are both back and we can 2-3 more pitchers in the rotation/bullpen via trades.
I absolutely care if the Astros win the division or WC No time after the season to set up the rotation. Must win 2 of 3 all on the road before even starting the ALDS. Probably pitching the top starters and leverage relievers heavily right up till the end of the season.
Brown brought Madris up specifically for this purpose. To hit vs RHP when needed because so many of the current players are so bad vs RHP. This is why the Astros need to replace Meyers or Julks with someone better than Madris.
It is, he is a MUCH better hitter than Maldanado and the pitchers performance has been better with Diaz also. That's just the facts If you think that means some people think we would win every game if Diaz catches, or something stupid like that, then you just aren't very smart when it comes to baseball
This is another good lineup, though I would have dropped Bregman even further. Vs LHP Dubon .882 Pena .800 Tucker .950 Bregman .545 Abreu .642 McCormick 1.014 Julks .804 Meyers .756 Maldy .688 FWIW Diaz .502
You have Luis Robert’s at 128 when it should be 142. Brendan Donovan is 125. Suwinski is 125. I would bet several others are wrong as well based on how much better Robert has been than the field but too lazy to look them up.
LOLOL I hope you don't believe that Madris has 111 career at bats vs RHP and he is hitting .171, has struck out in 28 of those at bats He isn't even better than Maldanado at giving a quality at bat The only reason he is here is Dusty begged for a LHH, he is still stuck in the 1980's way of doing things, if there is a RHP then I must have a LHH to face him. Damn the stats, damn how terrible someone is, damn everything else, just put up the guy who hits opposite handed of the pitcher Dude is WAY past his prime, but he does have that 1 ring in 29 seasons
Fine with me if the rangers empty their farm for a rental, even if it is Ohtani. They will still be the rangers, they still won't win it all, and they wreck their farm. kind of does sound like a ranger thing to do
Chas should be our leadoff hitter until Altuve comes back. He works the count, hits for power and is just an overall better at bat than Dubon. You've got two hackers at the top of the lineup getting the most at bats instead. I really don't understand Dusty sometimes.
Ohtani going to Seattle Mariners make more sense than Rangers. Close to home and they can paid the large contract. I like Taqueria Arandas batting 2nd, do something different than putting a batting order similar to past batting orders.
Dubon has been awesome vs expectations, but a .301 on base is terrible for a leadoff hitter, and yea that approach He would be a GREAT utility guy batting in the bottom 3, if we ever got healthy
