I would also really look into a Infielder maybe someone who can play the left side 3B and SS

he needs to stay healthy. This is were you gotta be around. CF LF 1B DH
The OF should be ok for him but he also needs time DHing and 1B.
    Gotta keep him fresh.

But I just don't trust him as a player.
Could see him still bitter and willing to mess us over.

Then you're not giving this team it's best chance to win another championship.

He is an *******. Don’t want him. And I don’t really think he improves this team.

Don’t like the idea at all

Josh Hader wouldn't be bad aswell. The Astros gotta find a way to move off Montero

Understood. Pretty sure I was over estimating the prospects by a grade.

I just read the explanation of what each grade is and my understanding was about a grade off in each case.

For example 45 is platoon/utility but I thought it was average starter.

50 is average starter and I thought it was above average.

    Etc.

    My bad.

There are 11 weeks left in the season.

Every week it becomes more and more obvious that Diaz is simply better and that Maldy is just a shell of his former self.

Unless Diaz falls into a Meyers or Jose Abreu level slump, Dusty will have no choice but to keep playing him most days once Yordan returns.

Because Yordan will need to DH over half the time due to injury risk, Dusty will have no choice but to play Diaz at catcher more and more.

There is enough season left that Diaz overtakes Maldy in starts and playing time, and I fully expect it to happen

What I would like to see is a L/R platoon where Diaz starts vs RHP and Maldy vs LHP. They have very clear splits. Maldy kinda hits lefties, and Diaz hits righties but is terrible vs lefties.

Since potential playoff teams rotationsxare about 83% RH that works for me.

A .300 hitter with power and a good fielder brings nothing to the team?

I think Chapman gets to skate due to being with the Yankees.

If Maldy was to get hurt and you added Diaz to the lineup, you would have the best lineup in MLB. IMHO

While there at it Pressley has been shaky to this year Hader would be a big improvement.

Do you want to know what's wrong with Pressly?

Last year he pitched in 50 games.

This year we are not even to the 2/3 mark and he has pitched in 41.

Just like the entire bullpen he is overworked and tired. It's 2021 all over again.

He's not a .300 hitter. He's a below average hitter on a streak. Astros would overpay for someone who'd strike out more than a fat guy hitting on victoria secret models.
