Thank you. Unfortunately they just give information about general techniques used but not which stats are used and how they are combined.

No choice, there is not much value around the league despite him being a very versatile young player with potential.

Good for him, hopefully he doesn't mind playing behind inferior players and instead takes advantage of the opportunity to showcase himself for other teams.

I coached over a decade in rec leagues and AAU tournaments. I coached a young lady who played at Duke, earned a WNBA Championship ring during her 10 year career in that league, played in Europe for10 years and now coaches in the WNBA. Several of the boys I coached played in college. None of them EVER ran out on their team at halftime. I had two 16 year old boys show up stoned to a game. I told both of them they were not playing that day and the only way they were staying on the team is if they sat on the bench, watched the others play and took an ass chewing after the game. One chose to stay and take the ass chewing after the game and the other quit the team. That said...... With guaranteed money involved it's a much different situation in the Pros. Unlike you I don't pretend to equate coaching little kids to handling pros.

DARKO likes Sengun plenty; this is all relative to age. It's definitely pretty subjective to say "likes him," But along with player progression check out the longevity projection. It's a weird way to express potential: the more years you have left relative to your age, the more DARKO likes the player. I've been on Kostya (DARKO creator) to make something more intuitive (he just had another kid and has a full-time job so he's pretty busy) but for our purposes, I think it's at least a little useful.

DARKO projects KPJ to have 9.7 more years in the league. That makes him tied for 38th in the league in that metric. However, the guys ahead of him include youngish stars like Tatum and Garland. If you exclude them and just look at prospects it looks like DARKO says KPJ is around the 25th most promising young guy in the league. That doesn't sound crazy at all to me. And notably, that's the 25th player even though he's been playing out of position for two years.

As for Sengun, in the longevity rating (again, excluding young guys like Luka and Morant) DARKO rates Sengun as the 17th most promising player. Doesn't that seem just about right?

Among DARKO's findings are two big things: almost all young players suck. If you're a neutral player at 23 like KPJ, that's legit promising. The other thing is that defense is really underrated. It reminds me of baseball 20 years ago, when people discovered that while Manny Ramirez was a HOF hitter he gave up tons of value by being a terrible fielder. Ja Morant and Luka are big-time offensive players but are really hurting their teams on defense. On the other hand, DARKO says that Jrue is a top 15 player. You hear journalists and analysts say he's a great defender, but they never seem to add that to their judgments when they're ranking players. Just like they say Morant is lousy on defense and then seem to forget it when they rate him overall. And their teams know this; according to Voulgaris, as I recall, the Mavs said, yeah, but we think he'll defend in the playoffs...

If you want to experience some pain, look at Garuba on DARKO.

Or look at Dillon Brooks and feel a little better.

Did you hear Nate Duncan on the contract? He was under the impression that Brooks got an extra year as his price for being patient and waiting for the Rockets to complete their pursuit of VV and Lopez. I don't mind the contract number at all - under $20M in his final year. My only question is playing time in the coming years.

It's true saying "likes him" or "doesn't like him" is not the most precise language, what I meant to say is that they seem to rate Sengun lower in a lot of ways than many others I've seen when it comes to current player skill projections.

When it comes to the longevity projections, that's a whole different story.

We all know based on merit KPJ deserves to start over Green

Unfortunately Green is incapable of running the second unit and would fold under pressure. KPJ coming off the bench is best in terms of winning

And wouldn't you say pnr primary ball handler is the most frequent play for a pg/primary ball handler?

    Jalen Green on PnR possessions

9.9 possessions per game .87 ppp

    KPJ

    8.5 possessions .84 ppp

So more volume and more efficiency

Remember what your claim was. Don't moe goal posts by spamming something else. When it comes to how well the offense does with each respective player on the court and which player is more efficient on the most important possession type for a pg, Green is better.

Stop the bs man. People in the media who covers the rockets say either KPJ or Sengun the best player on the team. Nobody says green was, he consistently gets listed at best 3rd.

You're going to make Jalen's boyfriends very upset saying things like that.

These stats mean nothing when KPJ is visibly clearly the better player

I would love for Jalen to prove me wrong and would love nothing then him be the next Kobe but I don’t see it. My friends who are Maverick & Spur fans think KPJ is the better player and I’ve seen a lot of NBA Reddit thinks the same.

This isn’t even me being a KPJ stan. Amen has already won my heart. Jalen just needs to get his **** together and actually show me he is better than KPJ

Good thing you aren't the national arbiter of eye tests.

What I find so odd given that KPJ is supposed to be such a better ball handler than Green, Green does 10 possessions of what a pg is supposed to and not only more efficient with points per possession. His turnover frequency is 13% and KPJ's is 18% on pnr ball handling possessions. How is the better ball handler having a significantly higher turnover frequency? I mean Green has the turnover frequency on similar volume of pnr possessions compared to some elite pgs with elite handles like Murray and Steph for example. Pnr ball handler possesions are the possesions most demonstrating ball handling skills and navigating defenses.
