They replaced your guy in the starting lineup, not Alpi.

    Hurts you, I know.

In the modern nba era, the only players who are definitely above jokic’s current run are jordan and lebron. You can also argue for prime shaq, but it’s close. If sengun surpasses jokic, now you’re in the jordan/Lebron territory. You really think he’s gonna be at that level?

Let’s see what he looks standing next to others. I want him to prove me wrong, I’ve said that many times. I’ve also given him credit many times on what I think he does well

Part of it is just the total disrespect towards jokic, not just the sengun delusion

Very disrespectful! It’s also not fair to Sengun. Let’s see him reach Vucevic first, then Sabonis. Those are more realistic for him

Joker deserves a lot more respect here.

so what do you think he will be better at then Jokic? For him to surpass jokic, some parts of his game have to be better. Where do you think he has a decent chance to be better?

Good question! I think he has a decent chance at 3pt shooting and scoring in the post. Passing and mid-range shooting is unlikely. Defense, we'll have a better idea at the end of this year. As a player I think Sengun has a stronger drive for success compared to Jokic, more alpha personality.

Overall to pass jokic is almost an impossible task.

Scoring in the post: Jokic is by far the best in the nba, he was 7% better then the next best (luka). You think Sengun can surpass someone who's by far the best in the league at that? Ok
3 point shooting: Jokic is 35% regular season, 41% playoffs. Sengun is at 28% currently for his career. Jokic is also a much better free throw shooter so there is no reason at all to think that Sengun will be a better 3 point shooter then Jokic.
Sronger drive for success: Obviously completely asinine garbage, no reason to think this what so ever and just random gibberish

A little realism wouldn't hurt. There's almost no way Alperen being a Jokic caliber player since Jokic is quite literally the best player in the entire world by far. Then again he doesn't have to be a Jokic caliber player. If he ends up being anywhere between Sabonis and Jokic, that's a hell of a player and top3 center in the world.

Not that i think he's gonna be Jokic but how do you ignore the age and experience gap bw them? You thinking that he's not gonna be as good as Jokic because he can't shoot as good as 8th season Jokic in year 2 is as stupid as him believing that Sengun has a stronger drive for success than Jokic imo. He's a super fan and making up some he has a dog in him kinda bullsh.t to strengthen his argument while you are on the other hand ignoring his post skills. Listen if i have a player in my roster that has 5 different moves in the post, embarrassing vet centers at 20 i wouldn't be dismissive. For instance, Keegan Murray is already a terrific shooter at 22. Am i insane to think that he "might" become a better shooter than Klay in his prime? Ppl are so dismissive. Great players were once average players. You don't know until you know.

Jokic in his 2nd season put up a TS+ of 116, so his TS was 16% above league average. The higher level the current player is, the less likely someone is to reach that level. Again, for sengun to surpass Jokic, he would basically need to be jordan/lebron good. I would bet that no player currently in the league will be a better post player then Jokic, and nobody will for a long time (if ever).

Exactly. Anyone that doesn't want a better Sabonis though not quite Jokic on this team is just plain idiotic.

Jokic in his 2nd season was 21 years old. He had grown man's body and strength. Sengun had acnes all over his body until 4-5 months ago. He started looking like a 5 this offseason. He apparently weighs 265Ibs and grew an inch. Btw i'm not talking about surpassing Jokic i'm aware that it's borderline impossible because he has to be elite at more than 1 area. However thinking that he might develop into a better post player isn't abnormal. He can spin, finish with his left/right, pump fakes the sh.t out of you, can finish with reverse layup and he has counters i mean it's ridiculous how versatile he already is and he has insane balance. You think he's gonna fall but he finishes with layup. Imagine how good he will be 8 years from now. It's perfectly reasonable to think that Sengun could be a post god of the league in the future.
