Being better than Jokic is a tall task but at this point we have no idea what Sengun's actual ceiling is. His ceiling could put him ahead of Jokic. Only time will tell. Sengun could easily be a 25+/12+/10+ player which would put him close to Jokic. Depending if he reaches the "+" and if he does where the "+" actually lands could put him above Jokic.
Yup, everyone knows Nicola is a very, very special player, has good sense of humour and seems a decent person. Happy that Alp idolizes him. Alp is also decent person and hope he has Nicola's level of sense of humour. Not easy. Little bit "Lemanyak/Uykusuz/Penguen/Umut Sarikaya/Selcuk Erdem" injection needed. But at the same time Alp is more succesfull than same age Jokic. I can't tell the odds about how many percent is the probability Alp to become better than Jokic, likely quite less than 50% but still possible. Long task but possible. What I don't understand is some people become crazy when others compare Alp to Nicola. I can understand that if Nuggets fans get mad because they likely think Nicola is an ubermensch and one-off but I don't understand why some Rockets fans become sad. We can see lots of comparison such as JGreen/Kobe, Jabari/KD or KG, Tari/Kawhi and hope that it becomes true one day. Even 1 SL game Amen is touted as new Messiah.Hope so. Alp has the highest floor and the highest ceiling in this squad and I won't be surprised if he becomes Nicola caliber player in 5 years time. Edith Piaf: Alp is likely will be 22/14/8 PER 36 this year or next. 25/12/10 will be an humble target, especially reboundwise.
btw it is not the nuggets fans getting crazy after comparing sengun to jokic but okc, kings ,some rockets and bandwagonner nuggets fans. and this jokic comparasions was first written by a sengun hater who stated sengun would be jokic in playoff as he can't defend now that narrative changed to kanter by some okc fans and mini sabonis by kings fans.As i understand ppl in us overvalue individualism ,jokic is just another talented serbian who doesn't even their best player in their basketball history. kings and nuggets understood team play and playing according to it. 25-30 years ago wilt was the untouchable like jokic now until jokic break his reacords one by one
That is the next thread. Gotta work your way up the chain. Better than Jokic, better than Hakeem, better than Jordan, best athlete in human history, and so forth
Doubt it. He’s gonna ride the bench at the end of games and many are gonna hate Ime for it. I just wanna make sure y’all are gonna be happy with us winning, even if Sengun isn’t heavily featured
You were wrong about that last year, with an idiot coach. Ime is too smart to leave that talent on the bench. Alp, had the best end of game numbers on the team. Offensively and Defensively. Green was really good too at end of game
What are you talking about? I told y’all that some games Sengun wouldn’t finish, and that’s what happened. I just truly believe Ime is gonna finish with Landale or Jabari some games. If Sengun is cooking and we’re up by like 8 or more, I would expect him to finish. And we can agree that Silas was awful
Lmao, we’ve been over this. That wasn’t your claim, you said he wouldn’t finish most of the games. Which he did. He forced his way into the game. Just like he will now, being 7’ in shoes and all
Definitely wasn’t the case. He’s not that height at all, but that’s irrelevant. You know the Rockets desperately tried to replace him in the starting lineup? They gave up multiple assets to create room for that guy, but struck out. What does that say about their faith in him?
So how many games did the Rockets win when Sengun gets benched at the end of the games? 8-0 Clippers run in 80 seconds to win the game by 3 after he was benched comes to my mind.
