Eduardo Rodriguez for Melton and stuff. I like our track record of trading for DET pitchers.

Snell/Hader are both rentals so 4 top 10 prospects ( based on Astros organization level) but it won't be known until right at the deadline if SD is selling AND there will be crazy competition.

Boston is reportedly interested in Dubon and needs RHH outfielders so there is that.

    Dubon and Meyers for Verdugo?

He plays LF every game vs RHP, covers Tucker's and Chas' days off 3-4 times per month.

    Julks plays LF vs LHP.

    vs RHP / vs LHP
    Verdugo .885 / .659
    Julks .714 / .824
    Chas .774 / .853

It also leaves another dangerous bat on the bench to PH.

He's dogshit horrible in CF, maybe you can shoot balloons down a bit with a shotgun (it would be very hard not to), but I do wonder if you could hit the broad side of a barn with a BB gun, given your "look at me, look at my gun" **** that's all for show, you ****ing jake.

No need for a RF, that's Tucker. So tell me what does this guy do?

No need for a LF, thats Alvarez. We already have two center fielders. So tell me what does this guy do?
He satisfies the urge to trade somebody.

Sure. You don’t make that decision until the winter of 24. Lots can change.

Agreed. You saw the marlins do it. You only tear it down and trade those guys if you can’t compete. I was talking about a hypo with snakes trade where you don’t have brown or Gilbert anymore, JV would be gone, you’d have Framber and Chas and sticker for 1 more year etc etc.

Well Yordan can DH. And who said he is dog **** at CF? 2 errors over his career
191 PO 6 assets witha .990 fielding Percentage.

McCormick has career .987 fielding Percentage 2 errors and 242 PO with 2 assets.

So explain the dog ****? Ps also bats Left handed

You can't. Dude can hit alot better then McCormick and anyone else we have in CF.
He can play all postions in the OF. Which is great. You get on base you win Games.

Note: let's not get political pal I believe in the 2nd amendment. Get over it. And live your life. Nancy

So everything we answer you then you come up with some BS response and ask for another answer?

How about Yordan is too important and has proven to fragile to play more than half the games in LF maybe less, much less.

How about only 3 of the Astros hitters are better vs RHP than LHP. Maldy, Abreu, Pena, Julks, Dubon, and Meyers are all below average vs RHP

How about the contending teams in the A L all have several more RH starting pitchers than LH.

With Verdugo ( minus Dubon and Meyers)

    vs RHP
    Altuve .415 / .546 =.961
    Bregman .353 / .425 = .779
    Alvarez .405 / .565 = .970
    Tucker .354 / .446 = .800
    Abreu ..291 / .343 = .634
    Verdugo .370 / .515 = .885
    Diaz .306 / .562 = .868
    Chas .340 / .434 = .774
    Pena .283 / .367 = .650

    vs LHP
    Altuve .243 / .303 =.556 in 37 PA (1.086 ops 2022)
    Pena .349 / .475 = .824
    Alvarez .354 / .634 = .988
    Tucker .409 / 539 = .948
    Chas .333 / .520 = .853
    Abreu .296 / .365 = .661
    Julks .333 / .490 = .824
    Bregman .289 / .278 = .566
    Maldy .310 / .389 = 698

    Was this quote already posted?

“We’re entertaining a lot of different things we’d like to add to the club, if possible,” Dana Brown said Friday. “We know the price tags are high and we know that there’s not many things on the shelf. There’s not many players out there, and there’s a lot of buyers right now. What we’re being told by a lot of clubs is, ‘Hey, give us to the end of the week, we’ll see what things look like.’ I’ve talked to multiple clubs that told me that. We’re going to have a lot of meetings next week leading up to it and we’ll be ready to pull the trigger if we get something that makes sense.”

Also from the same article, if they can't make a trade that make sense for them, potential backup plan is to call up Spencer Arrighetti.

So if the price for SP is so high you get a bat or two. Yhe way thi gs are going.
We may need an Infielder aswell.

So the thought would be not hurting Alveraz by putting him to much in LF.
    Which leaves Julks and McCormick.
    Brantley may never be back.
So you need a LF who hits for Average. Gets on base. And when you get on base you win Games.
    So money ball.
Add Verdugo he bats 2nd and moves Bregman behind Tucker.
Then make a Trade for Carlson. Cards need Pitching we have it.
Offer them Forrest Whitley and Colton Gordon and call it a day.
Dubon mine aswell stay with the Middle Infield getting ate up.
The bats make the pitching better to chew on

He would likely play LF a lot and have Alvarez shift to DH often…. The problem is that with Baker dead set on Maldonado catching, he has to DH often.

Verdugo does have an extra year of control, so that’s good… but still.

The only real outfielder that makes sense to me is Cody Bellinger. He can play CF well and also play 1st and is a lefty…. Getting him allows the Astros to move Meyers or McCormick. However, McCormick is under longer control and really should just be the full time starting CF.

Really, the Astros should try and move Meyers for a reliever under control beyond this year - or move him in a deal for Josh Hader… even adding Hader may not be enough, look for another reliever as well if possible… and add a starting pitcher to eat innings and maybe surprise.

We need an innings eater SP, 1-2 mid to upper RP, and lefty bat. This team won't make it to the playoffs even if Altuve and Yordan came back to themselves.
