Yeah, matches the eye test, EGo and Green were completely checked out. EGo not giving a damn was explainable, he was basically sitting on his suitcases waiting for a trade. Green was inexcusable. Surprised Trefor "The Franchise” Huggins rated so poorly, though I don’t have any memories of him on the court, whatsoever…
Wow. Clicking on the above led me to a Twitter thread where @Bobbythegreat was relentlessly slamming Jalen. That's a huge pile if receipts he's leaving all over the place that will make him look really silly in just a year or two.
I'm not worried about receipts, if Jalen magically becomes a good player, that's awesome.... but it won't change the past and that's what I'm talking about.
I just don't think he was coached well. He was running around alot on defense but just out of position. KJ too. Watch KJ become a better defender with the Clippers. Watch everyone's ability rise with better coaching
Lol you were already embarrassingly proven wrong about Green with the Brewer 2.0 proclamation. Then Amen hasn't played much yet but I'm willing to bet you will be wrong about him as well.
The thing is what is the other 72 games looking like? He needs to develop consistency, I'm not slanting him I am just stating what he needs to do to reach the next level. Also defense and his angles going to the rim.
You can misrepresent what I said, and I'm sure some will be dumb enough to go along with it.... but it's not going to further the conversation. I stand by what I said then, that was always the floor outcome. Since then he's been a bit better offensively and a lot worse defensively. A player outperforming their floor doesn't make conversations about their floor invalid. Also it's not relevant to the current conversation.
Just block him. He clearly has some level of mental r****dation. not liking a player is OK but having 99% of any of your internet content revolve around trashing a guy is strange. Like it isn’t a normal thing. You engage him and he does one of the following….. 1. Accuses poster X of tantrum or calls them child. 2. Cites himself a fan of the “team” an arbitrary judge of Green who is criticizing his year. 3. He will also mix in a cute little crawfish of a move where he trashes Jabari to try to deflect the reality of his strange green obsession. It is about that point that he will usually drop in the nugget that is he will readily admit if Green becomes “league average”. It is just a weird obsession. If he ever posted any quality outside of this constant narrative, I would probably nit think as much of it. Someone should ask him to detail the stats that he wants to see next year in order to stop the whole schtick.
That is something I always encourage. If you aren't prepared to discuss things like an adult without throwing tantrums when you see something you disagree with, you'd be doing me a favor by taking yourself out of the conversation. As to the second part, I'd like to see Jalen be league average from 3 for his position and have a league average for his position TS%. I'd also like him to not be a complete embarrassment defensively. I know those goals would require a ton of improvement, but I think it's what we should expect
Don't forget about him bringing in a fellow member's child who faced mental challenges to try and win an internet argument. Truly, truly human scum.
Jalen's play this year will determine the path of this franchise for several years, because he will be the first of the young guys to be eligible for that massive rookie extension, and teams are giving those out to guys who have done the the minimum to earn it (Ball/Hornets - $260M+). If he doesn't improve we are likely stuck in mediocrity for some time (Hornets).
I wouldn't go that far because this team has guys like Amen who can reach reach their expectations in a few years Incase Green stagnates. I'm betting on him not stagnating because this year's situation is so much better than last season but anything can happen.
Love that shot. I forget sometimes that the kid has a nice touch because that shot is not easy, especially with the rip through semi-Euro action he adds to some of them. Hoping he uses this more often next season, mixing in a healthy dose of more floaters and drives to draw contact. He's drawing more fouls, but still room for improvement.
