Javier has no business starting tomorrow. Every time he plays is wasted potential rest, plus we'll probably lose the game anyway and his stats will continue to inflate. It doesn't matter if he says he feels good. He's not in charge. Look at Chas and Diaz... obviously they're not in charge. We need consecutive bullpen games like @Arlington when his turn comes around. It also wouldn't hurt to field our best lineups to lessen the workload of the high leverage guys. It's a long season and still over 2 weeks until the deadline
I’m still pissed at Madris getting picked off at first and doing nothing with bases loaded and a middle middle pitch.
Ah we are counting Bielak as a veteran? Yes, he's been on the team parts of 4 years but has yet to even hit 162 innings for his career... his career totals don't even add up to qualify for a season's rankings.
He needs to start at some point soon or else he will no longer be stretched out and that has its own complications. I would like them to pitch him with 5-6 days rest. Maybe keep Framber, France and Urquidy (when he returns) on a regular 4-5 days rest routine but insert Bielak and Blanco into starts in between to constantly give Javier and Brown more rest. Not sure what that looks like in an actual schedule though.
Hey now, beating out that double play to keep the bases loaded with one out was one of the plays of the game.
The break should help because he clearly hasn't been himself for a month heading in despite 5-6 days rest. Tomorrow will be his biggest start of the season based on recovery time (12 days) from what seems a tired arm. If he's crap tomorrow, 5-6 days doesn't give much confidence toward the remainder of the season and it seems another 12 days rest won't help.
Glad we ran into contract year Rendon in the '19 WS. He should pay triple for meals/drinks anytime he's back in the H.
Bielak exceeded rookie status in 2020. He is arb eligible next season - same as Chas and Bryan Abreu.
