KPJ is still here despite all the haters, the org knows they have a special talent. They know what they are doing, KPJ is part of the core, and his contract makes him even more valuable because he outperforms it big time.

Still no one has answered the thread title, why do ALLEGED Rocket fans hate him? He literally hasn't done anything here other than one small episode in which he apologized and they moved on.

MadMax did much worse and we won a title with him.

Not after he went off the edge. If KPJ did something like that, he would be gone. In fact, a lot of people believe that if Silas wasn't the coach, he would have been kicked off the team when he left the arena at half time.

Very few Rockets fans really hated MadMax. But I don't see anyone defend his behavior like the KPJ fans do.

While some people no doubt hate KPJ, most seem to feel ambivalent about him. Most just don't think he is nearly as good as his stans keep trying to shove down everyone's throats SOF-style and escalating responses to KPJ stans mirror that annoyance. At the end of the day, if KPJ gets waived or traded I imagine the majority of the fanbase's reaction would probably be a collective "Meh" with the additional "What did we get out of it?" if he was traded. At the end of the day, if the FO believed in him they wouldn't have offered the contract that they did. They also wouldn't have looked to replace him the moment the season ended.

If KPJ stans want to see hatred, just look at the fanbase's reaction to us waiving Nix;' it was downright euphoric virtually across the board.

    Hatred? LOL

Do Rockets hate him when they went out to get not one but two PGs (FVV and Amen) during the offseason? Does Clutch hate him when he was obviously mocking the KPJ stans with his recent tweet?

Only in KPJ stans’ twisted minds that everyone hates him.

Stating that he sucks at pg which he does and wanting him to shine as a sixth man is hating kpj in their eyes

I dont think most people hate kpj. I think most people hate that he was given the keys to the team for the past couple of years when its been obvious to everyone except a few that he was not a lead ball handler or a leader in general.

He was given all the leadership for seemingly no reason and deemed himself the head honcho.

So he became the face of failure and the leader of losers.

This is the difference between kpj and mad max. Mad max was never the teams "head honcho". If the Rockets had made Max a pg or given him the keys to run the team a lot of fans would have directed frustration towards him as well.

Personally im not worried about kpj being an issue anymore because this off season they stripped him of the leadership and pg role. The team is no longer going to be a reflection of him and Silas. Kpj will either fall in line and excel in his new role or he wont. Im hoping he excels because kpj is really talented and if he focuses on being a play finisher rather than a table setter i think he can be very very good.

What behavior? Since he got here he has a grand total of one time he got pissed off at halftime and left, that's it.......and he immediately apologized.

People forget that he was INJURED playing that game - was playing GREAT - then was told he wasn't going to play the 2nd half and was singled out as a bad performer by Lucas in the first half in which he was GREAT - he got mad, and left, immature for sure, but not anything to villify anyone over.

Since then he has been a model citizen........

And don't talk about him quitting on plays or pouting because EVERY SINGLE ROCKETS player has done the same thing.....it is immature, but it is not worth all the hate.

KPJ is a guy with a ton of talent, who has turned the maturity corner, and is outperforming his contract.

And HE IS A ****ING ROCKET !

    Rocket's fans support Rocket's players.

his on-court behavior multiple games this past season was infuriating. pouting after missed shots not even making it past halfcourt to get back on D, ignoring wide open teammates over and over again especially on fastbreaks refusing to advance the ball downcourt. and our insider nook says he skips practice and argues with assistant coaches on the regular

FOR **** SAKE, so did Jalen, so did Jabari, so did Alpi...they all pouted......It is a sign of being a kid......they learn from doing that, but we didn't have a coach to fix it.

Yeah, I read what Nook said, but 20 years ago, in the non-twitter everyone wants to post **** first society that happened all the time and no one knew it, and it was handled in house.

How many OTHER players missed practice or were late? Or are we only focusing on one.

I want to see KPJ with a PROPER coach and we have one - funny how they held onto him and let others go, they must believe in him......so let's see where this leads, we finally have a proper coach....and he is clearly one of the if not THE most talented players on the team.

Worth a risk to find out, and I will support him until he is not a Rocket.

Sengun had the worst body language of anyone and it’s not even close. KPJ can’t get away with the same bc of his reputation, just what it is lol

BIG ****ING DEAL - who cares, he got upset at a no call....wah wah wah.....

Every other Rocket did the same type of whiny ****.

He has to grow up, he needs a coach that holds him accountable....it is almost like you guys have never been a father or a coach....before.

Honestly, that is what some of you are upset about he got pissed at a no-call......honestly......that's it???

BWHAAHAHAHAHAH you guys are too ****ing rigid, have a kid, coach a team......get over yourself and grow up.

It is obvious to me that none of you have coached any teams before that had a spoiled brat on it, and how to properly handle it and how much a strong fair minded coach makes a difference.

This **** is cleaned up in just one or two practices - and if not - they get run, consequences for your actions - fairness in treating all equally - that is what the team, and KPJ need.....

Watch the difference with a proper coach - and get back to me.....better yet, jump to the end, go watch "Coach Carter".....

    GO ROCKETS !

Wonder what he says about JA and his antics which are imminently worse.

DD, you gotta realize the hate bc he’s not one of our draft picks. People here wouldn’t feel the same way if we drafted him then. There’s something sentimental with fans and draft picks. We had guys crying over JC and KJ lol

We didn't draft Harden either, we didn't draft OT, Maxwell, Kenny Smith, Mario Elie - they are ROCKETS.....once here they are wearing our colors.....and helping our team.

There is no space on this ROCKETS bus for people that hate on our own players.

I know, but that’s how it’s been during this rebuild. I’ve been told that I’m not a true fan bc I hate one of our young players (Sengun), but what about the KPJ haters? Think about much guys hated Nix! The energy should be kept the same, regardless.

Dont forget about this one too:

This isnt just normal kid behavior.
No one else has had these types of incidents.
Ive got no issue with the role kpj will have as more of an off ball player and maybe an off the bench player.

It's actually pretty simple...when opinions are emotion based, they are usually displayed with fervor...when a moron is passionate, you get passionate stupidity. When narcissistic morons are passionate about something they have to say it louder, an more often in an attempt to convince others that they are the shining light. Unfortunately it lands on other susceptible morons like a call to action, and they join in. Imho

    Moral of this story....just stop
