That home plate ump really favored the Astros in the 9th! HAHA About time, I guess. Please god, give us a ball/strikes challenge system!
Madris and Hensley should never see the line up as DH’s - it’s bullshit. The Astros this year have wasted so many runs with crappy players DHing - I’m halfway expecting Baker to just have the pitcher hit.
I know it doesn’t seem like a big win for the Astros - but it was. The Angels had Ohtani on the mound against a rookie. Good way to start out the second half. Time for Dana Brown to make a couple moves to get the line up “Dusty proof”…. add a bat so Madris can go to the Mexican League and deal Meyers for a starter.
You could do worse than DH'ing Diaz and if disaster struck live with the pitcher batting for a game. Sign me up for this.
With the Astros playing 9 on the road and the Rangers playing 9 at home, to start the second half, you’d think the Rangers have the advantage. I don’t see it that way. 9 against the Angels, Rockies and A’s while the Rangers play the Indians, Rays and Dodgers. If the Astros don’t come home with a division lead I’ll be extremely disappointed.
By my count, Madris has 9 hits in his last 34 games. That just screams DH. <edit> I think Dusty likes to do things to make you want to beg for Maldy in the lineup.
JFC. How about the guy who did pinch hit for Madris? Saving Diaz for a theoretical (and unlikely) situation when the actual and specific opportunity to put the game away was there is … something. But it was a left hander pitching, so hard to disagree. I honestly cannot stand Dusty. The combination of arrogance and ignorance is insanely frustrating - he’s the @Bobbythegreat of managers.
