I love how we are trying to squeeze in a narrative by ignoring stats like assists and rebounds like they don't matter. Talk about silly.

Let's all agree on one thing, the best player should play, and the one that is not as good should back him up?

Fair fight - FTW. Let training camp begin.

Wonder why we've yet to see KPJ working out w VanVleet and the boys. We've got a big year ahead.

The org is releasing images that show FVV and Green it is their narrative. KPJ is working out, there are vids and pics of it, but the org is focused on FVV. And Green is working out with FVV (Smartly) so they show that.

I'll be honest. I don't want to go by Instagram workout highlights to determine who has more work ethic.

Maybe KPJ is working his ass off but just don't record some of his sessions.

In fact I'm sure KPJ has been training. These are professional NBA players. Pretty much everyone in the league is training right now either with personal training staff or the teams'

In his interview at summer league Jalen said he’s working out with FVV because they have the same trainer. I don’t think there’s much more to it than that.

They are all working out, but the Org is focused on FVV as he is the latest addition and as Green is working with him they show them both.....no conspiracy just showing what is going on.

Best player plays....let the competition begin.....right?

Would you guys all agree to let the best player play, and the other back them up???? Seems fair.

Jalen's been working out with a variety of trainers this summer. We've seen him with his own trainer, Paul George's and now FVV's. I just assumed we'd have seen KPJ working w Brickley by now as Amen and Whitmore have both already begun training with him.

It will be interesting to see KPJ in his natural SCORE first position - and see how much more efficient he is because of it. I think he will be free of the shackles of trying to get others involved and will flourish as a primary scorer.

I am very keen to see how the rotation plays out at SG/SF - with Green, KPJ, Brooks and Tari all there.......demanding minutes....I could see KPJ anywhere from backing up the 1, 2, and 3 spots to starting at the 2 or 3 etc.....

Just gonna be crazy to see how all of this shakes out.....and who plays in WINNING time.....

So how do we think KPj is going to play off of Amen and Tari in the reserve unit?

I wouldnt. Manu came off the bench because it was best for the team. Maybe Cam is better than Jalen already. All things considered though I want Green starting at SG. Third year for #2 pick, we want to figure out what is what. Should Ime want Green to go to the bench, I expect for Green to accept it, and be a good teammate.

this is classic DD. It is fair to say Porter was marginally better than Green this year, although Green attracted a lot more attention.

You favor Porter (as I favor Green) so you think that this means Porter should start. It completely ignores maximizing our future outlook. More notably the starting lineup has more of a need for someone that can generate their own shot at the rim and draw fouls. Swapping Green for Porter would be an effort to get a better catch and defender. These things have been addressed by internal growth of Smith, Brooks and FVV.

I have the same expectation for Porter that I do green whichever one goes to the bench needs to accept it and roll with it. But the best player need not start. We need Green to make our offensive intentions function. Porter=better shooter, Green= better creator. Nothing Porter did last year screams hey, let’s let this guy create more. On the other hand, all things considered on Green It’s probably time for us to figure out if he can create for others at an all star level.

So, we need to hold you to your logic though. If Green starts over Porter, then you need to admit Ime thinks Green is better.

That 2nd unit may be better than the first unit.

I have no problem with the best players starting or finishing, but I do have a problem with you saying Green is a better creator, that is fundamentally NOT true, if it were HE would have been playing PG last year. They both turn it over a bit too much but aren't as bad as the narrative in here, and KPJ is a much better passer/creator than Green he is just a better player overall. In pretty much every single way.

Shooting, passing, creating, dribbling, defense - every way KPJ is better - though it is marginally so.....and I want them both.....I just want a fair competition.......as should we all.

I take the Manu comparison - sure if that is the role that either of them get fine, they will be finishing.

I am simply not a guy that gives TWO ****ING ***** for where you are drafted, it is about performance on the court, and that is all that any Rockets fan that wants to win should care about as well.

It is only for KPJ. For other players it is team first.

I am sure I can find other posts arguing that Sengun should be in the second unit because it benefits the team.

That is what IME will be tasked with doing finding the right fit.

You’re contradicting yourself. If Green is the better creator than he should go to the bench, like Manu, to create. We have FVV and Sengun in the starting line-up…

That's actually why Green might be better with the first unit, you can kind of hide him a bit.

FVV and Brooks will be controlling the ball and taking most of the shots on offense and on defense you'll have Brooks and Smith to help make up for how pathetic Green is on that side of the ball.

I mean, optimally you wouldn't play him very much at all, but if you're forced to due to his draft status, maybe you could mitigate the harm he does that way.

Good to know he is doing well because we all deal with losing our significant other in diff ways

It wasn't a Harden comparison, I Am going off how he tries to resemble a Harden, no different than Kobe who mirrors imaged Jordan game/walk/talk and I guess was just better at it

KPJ can cook, And1 style is flashy and entertaining

Greatness is when somebody tries to copy you, along with of course showcasing dominance on the court, its a combo of things where some do it on both sides or are great/dominant one side, being influential is a big piece of said greatness

The true great ones dominate day one or put the league on notice rookie year, some of the developing late bloomers become great later down the line like a Giannis/Leonard/Jokic etc

KPJ has had a historic moment in his 4 seasons when he dropped that 50 piece, which is why he is in the avg NBA production camp, and we all wish and hope someday he could reach historic production, or just maintain and build on his past season and not fall back to his first 3 seasons of being horrible

    We shall see, go KPJ
