This season it'll be clarified. No one is set yet. Maybe none maybe all. We'll see won't we?

Highest likelihood of all the choices.

I hope we already have our future franchise player on the roster, so I'm not going to pick the "none" option on the above poll. There wasn't a "I don't know for certain yet" choice. So I picked the guy I think has the highest ceiling.

Having grown up with European basketball, I still see the game as a team sport.
I would prefer if we wouldn't have a franchise player, but yeah: Team value, merchandise sales, endorsements, sponsorships, etc etc...
The NBA system almost forces you to have one.

Saying that a MVP who won like 6 first team awards isn't a franchise player because he didn't win a ring is asinine and removes all nuanced context.

Ask yourself this simple question. Would Hakeem's team win a ring in the GSW dynasty era?

Seriously fans like that are the reason why NBA players ring chase and form these geriatric super teams.

Like I guess Charles freaking Barkley isn't a franchise player...o_O

Love this answer! Very good poll question too by the way but as of now no one has taken control. However, if I were pressed, I would have to lean Jabari. And they only reasons why, is because of his ATTITUDE, play on defense and last second shot making ability.... some players just have that knack!

If you notice Sengun, Green and Thompson all have the same low key demeanor. Jabari is more brash but anyone of them can rise to the occasion of being the franchise leader.

I agree. A franchise player doesn’t have to win a ring, but only has to put their team in the discussion for the final four during their prime. Barkley, Harden, Embiid, Luka, Stockton & Malone, and - prior to this year- Jokic were/are all franchise players. Not all franchise players deliver a ring, but they win a lot of games and put the franchise in discussion each year.

I don’t see anyone clearly above anyone else as the “franchise player.” I think there is real opportunity for a number of players to develop into that guy — but it’s not like we have a sure thing talent like a Zion or a Ja.

Sengun has a chance but it’s just always harder to imagine for anyone who isn’t very athletic.

Green has a chance if he slows down and gets serious. He gives me the impression that he cares more about being in the NBA and famous than actually becoming a franchise player. He wants to be a franchise player because of the fame. People joke abt his nail polish, to me it’s like guys who do their hair up before games. JLin did this one year, he would like super gel and spike it. Right or wrong, it gives me the impression you care more about how you look than how you play. Green is the quintessential Gen Z kid who grew up with social media. There’s a sense of narcissism and attention-whoreness with this generation. I’m officially old af.

Amen looked really special for the first half I saw of him but you gotta play against real NBA teams before you can be labeled potential franchise player.

kPJ definitely has franchise player skills. His emotional instability seems to have improved — but his deafening silence this off-season has me nervous for how he’ll take the possible benching this season.

If we get super lucky, Tari could develop into a Kawhi like player.

Jabari didn’t show much of anything special last session other than a decent looking stroke (that didn’t go in often enough) and good body size and movement for a future switch everything premium defender. He showed a lot more in SL of his offensive potential outside of catch and shoot. But it’s SL…

Cam looks like he could also be super special but also looks like he isn’t trying… he reminds me a little of Terrance Williams.

Is this a "who's most likely" question? Because we obviously don't have anyone on the roster right now that's even close right now.

Ime Udoka implemented a pecking order with the Celtics.
Forced the 3 Alpha dogs (Smart/Jaylen Brown/Tatum) to
    accept this concept.

    Became:
    #1 option: Tatum
    #2 option: Jaylen Brown
    #3 option: Marcus Smart
    #4 option: Horford
    #5 option: Derrick White

Rockets will be similar, only the Celtics were 18-19 (W-L) to start the
season before they started to get it. Rockets will struggle at first
with the pecking order, lineup combinations, communications,
and understanding the offensive and defensive schemes.

    Rockets pecking order:
    #1 option: Jalen Green
    #2 option: Sengun
    #3 option: Jabari Smith
    #4 option: KPj
    #5 option: VanVleet
    #6 option: Amen

But VanVleet will try to be more than a table setter and Dillon Brooks
will continue shooting 16 FGA's as one of the worst shooters in the league.
    Delaying development.

This Jalen Green season will be the equivalent of Michael Jordan's
    rookie season:

    MJ (rookie) was: (different era)
    38 minutes...5.9 asts...19.8 FGA's....9.1 FTA's....28.2 pts
    per-36 minutes was:
    ......................5.5 asts...18.6 FGA's....8.5 FTA's.....26.5 pts.

I expect Jalen to be #1 option, refs give him more FT's, clean up his
    3-pt percentage and FG percentage
    36 mins/gm...4.6 asts....18.8 FGA's....8.7 FTA's.....27.8 pts

Tatum first (only) year with Udoka:
    36.9 minutes...4.4 asts...20.6 FGA's..8.4 FTA's......26.9 pts

Provided they play something resembling modern basketball, those Rockets teams lead the NBA in 3 pointers attempted after all, I really don't see how the 93-94 Rockets pull it out, but the 94-95 Rockets would not be denied against anyone.

We could have more than one. We could have none. But, out of..Jabari, Amen, KPjr, Sengun, JG, Tari, and Cam...they all possess All Star talent. Scary.

I'm just thankful we've got a good coach to guide this franchise.
