Hmmm... Summer League... Coach is there, Brooks is there, FVV is there, Sengun is there, Jalen is there, KPJ is there, of course Tari and Bari are there. Coach Udoka using Summer League as a unofficial min-camp? If I recall correctly one of the reporters asked Coach Sullivan who won the coaches pick-up game? Wonder if this was coaches vs coaches or coaches vs players? Either way would've been fun to watch.

"Bubble Brooks" was certainly more than a 3&D player.

During the regular season that year he still only posted a .515 true shooting percentage. It's not the appalling level of efficiency he posted this past season, but it's still bad.

His best role is very clearly not as a top scoring option. He should be taking fewer, better shots. Period.

As bad as Jalen's and Jabari's rookie seasons were, they actually had higher TS% than Brooks' whole career. Brooks' best season was his rookie season. After that, he never posted anything higher than .515 in any season. Two of them were sub-.500. I really hope he will shoot A LOT LESS and concentrate on being the defensive specialist who can hit the occasional 3 when left open.

That's where you hope Ime doesn't put up with that. This is clearly a guy Ime pushed for so I would assume they had some talks about expectations.

This will be a bad contract if Brooks still has high FGA, otherwise it will be fine as the cap increases every year.

The fact that Dillon Brooks has never had a season with a TS% higher than last-season Jabari is terrifying.

I dont think anybody is pushing for Dillon Brooks to be a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd option. Its pretty clear his biggest redeeming quality is his ability to defend the perimeter at an elite level. Udoka isnt going to allow this guy to go wild and if he does then Udoka needs to go its that simple. Once this guy starts to contribute to winning basketball games hopefully all the pearl clutching will stop, but its ClutchFans where there is always something to b**** about.

Dillon Brooks is pushing for Dillon Brooks to be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd option on offense.

Given the hilarious contract he was given, the team doesn't really have any leverage to stop him from doing whatever he wants to do. He's one of the most untradable guys in the league, no one wants him at the full MLE, they sure as hell wouldn't want him for 4/86

Dillon Brooks is pushing for this.

I know people have Udoka as a blank canvas on to whom we have grafted every single hope and dream - it's going to be impossible for him to do all of the things people expect to happen with this current crew of players.

I hated this contract. It seems absurd to give this level of financial commitment to him.

However the b****ing and moaning about what a terrible player he is because of a low FG% has reached such a stupid level, I'm kind of starting to like the deal.

If Mr "Wont take no BS" Ime Udoka allows Brooks to chuck mindlessly at the expense of further development and team chemistry then we chose the wrong coach.

How would he do anything about it? Say mean words? Brooks is stuck on the Rockets for at least 3 years no matter what happens. There's just not a lot Udoka can do to rein him in without creating locker room problems that they'll be stuck with for years.

He saw what happened in Memphis and still wanted him, that's a red flag.

I, too, saw what happened with him in Memphis. They won 51 games with him starting 73 of them, averaging over 30 minutes a game.

.....and he had a 49% TS but was demanding a larger role in the offense anyway to the point of being such a locker room problem that his own team told him that under no circumstances would they allow him to be on the roster ever again.....

That's quite the bit to gloss over isn't it?

This is the "no nonsense" coach right? Mr Finals. The guy that most here said would show up and "not take no crap" while whipping this team into shape via piss and vinegar and he's going to spread his ass to a chucker?

Sure, he has some negatives. But so does every non-max player. The fact is he was the scapegoat for a disappointing season when, in reality, Ja created way more actual problems. I think Memphis will have a come-down year, and losing Brooks will be a big reason for it.

Seems more likely they chose the wrong players!
