As mentioned previously I respect your opinion. As I previously said I think the CWS will be able to get more for Giolito and Graveman for just Meyers and the same goes here with SD. Yes both Snell and Hader are FA after this yr but you're looking at possibly the best SP and closer on the market and there's multiple contending teams who desperately need this. I guess we'll see how it plays out.
I wouldn't kill that deal over the absence of a lotto prospect I'd consider that "close enough" but I'm not exactly a shrewd nor sharp negotiator.
I've got a used car you should be interested in. Trade market may disappoint a bunch of people, but who knows?
I think they will want a quality back of the bullpen pitcher with years of control and will spend a lot more for him, furthermore that will happen late in the process. The starter will be a rental of the #2-3 varity and will be much earlier and less costly. I just do not see a bat that improves the team enough to justify the cost. Bringing up Lee is the best solution to the one weak bat on the team. Maldy can live on the bench or bow out but the goal here is to take the option of playing Maldy away from Dusty and Lee does that just fine. Dusty can divide the time up any way he wants between Diaz and Lee but if he has an option to play Maldanato every day he will do it no matter what catcher you waste your money on.
I’ve got my car situation taken care of for now. But when I don’t I typically go to one of those no negotiation places.
I have a coffee mug . It is the finest coffee mug ever produced. It has been in my family for generations. I am considering letting it go and I can guarantee you there will never be an opportunity to get a better coffee mug. There will certainly be a bidding war for this mug. So you have to make a decision, ignore this once in a lifetime opportunity, temper your bid with reason and refuse to bid more, or bid away in what will surely be a costly win? In the end it is still just a coffee mug.
I hope you are not really so far gone that you can not smile at a humorous parable. It was of course offered in good will.
Just to add on to the coffee cup analogy. I just paid 40 bucks to have a case of Big Red shipped to me here in NY. It all about supply and demand and having a sucker willing to pay.
No Big Red. No Blue Bell. No good beef jerkey No good Mexican no good BBQ. That's why I'm looking to go home soon. Gonna indoctrinate my Yankee wife. Already converted her to a Stros fan.
SD may like and want Meyers, but each of those guys will bring back 2 prospects. Let's say Meyers is as good as 2. It will take at least 2 prospects in the 3-10 range plus Meyers to get that deal done. Say: Meyers, Dirden, and Arrighetti for Snell and Hader?
I just have to see Dusty actually play Diaz over Maldy in crunch time to believe this lineup happens. It’s the correct lineup for sure, but we know how dusty is with Maldy.
You got her on the right team Now go enjoy the food in NY. It’s better. It’s not close. Unless of course you just need your mexican/bbq fix. I gain like 8 pounds in a week when I go to NY
Lived in NYC for 6 yrs. A lot of great food but so does Houston. As you said Mexican and BBQ is better here but so is the Cajun and a lot of different seafood. Would give NYC the nod on Italian, Asian, French and Indian but would call Spanish and Thai about equal. Just one man's opinion.
I agree they would have to take it. Then in 2024 this team would not have any of those 3. Critically weakening 2024 and 2025 for a slight increase in chances to win in 2023
If Tucker and/or Brown are traded for a rental ANY rental, then 2024 is shot before the season starts and you might as well trade Framber and Bregman and have a proper rebuild. And if it happens with the Angels, then the Astros are immediately (2024+) the 4th best team in the west behind the Angels, Rangers, and Mariners.
