Do you want them to draft a base stealing 1B and catcher? Almost every other player on the team has speed. Why suggest a pitching overhaul, then prop "half-season" Lance as a solid foundational player? I wouldn't depend on Yordan playing 120 games in LF, but he's a solid defender. He needs to worry more about swinging a bat without injuring himself. If it's not an oblique, it's a hand. He should worry about avoiding Covid too. Astros could use another pitcher though, at least this season. Injuries have hit hard and Javier doesn't appear a 160 IP guy.
That is BS. The Giants were good for 1 year, then fell off for a decade, the Reds have terrible been since he left (finally good this year), Nationals won the WS after that run the next year and have been bad since. The Nats really won because their health was better for 1 year and of course, AJ Hinch. Cubs were terrible after Dusty left for more than a Decade.
But he made the playoffs. I was a Baker supporter until this season, but here is a guy where the GM had to trade away Straw so he would play Chas. It looks like he will have to DFA Maldy to play Diaz as catcher, and it took an injury to Alvarez and a conversation with Brown to play Diaz at DH as he was trotting guys with batting averages less 200 out there.
The Giants were good for a couple of years after he left and missed the playoffs most seasons he was there. Cincinnati he did well, relatively speaking because they've sucked before and after Dusty. Cubs were mostly meh when he was there and improved immediately after he left. Nats fell off because they traded their players and their manager gets credit for making the WS before Hinch was ever a factor. Overall, Dusty is just a guy. Maldy loves him though and might set his career record for GP while being his oldest age of his career.
There's some WHORES in this house, there's some WHORES in this house, there's some WHORES in this house!
To say the guy that is about to be 7th all-time in wins is “just a guy” is trying to diminish his accomplishments because you don’t like him is sad. You don’t like him, fine. You lose all credibility by calling him “just a guy”.
Dusty's lineup decisions frustrate me. Dusty has always been very loyal to veterans, and made unproven players jump through hoops before getting more than bench opportunities frequently to a fault. His continued insistence to start Maldy over Diaz is in line with his history and M.O. There is no doubting that players love and respect Dusty. This can not be over stated when deciding whether Dusty is doing a good job or not. This team is 1 good series away from the ALW lead and #2 seed. After all the injuries that must be considered a win. Dislike Dusty, or disagree with him all we want, I think the season so far results are impressive.
He's a cool guy and is loved around the league. This was the case prior to ever managing. He's had good players and has gotten many opportunities. Like Hinch, he's an average manager
Yea. I know. It will get serious enough that I will have to go bet money against them. That trumps all. I’ll lose the money but they will win. Holding that one in reserve.
my style is impetuous my defense is impregnable Lol... I remember your Tyson avatar from before. He was smoking sumthin

He has never failed to make the playoffs with a franchise...as a manager. NOT EVEN ****ING CLOSE.
Hinch needs to become cooler. That way he'll get more opportunities to fail like Dusty Toothpick should thank Hinch for trashcans. Otherwise Dusty would be ringless. Toothpick should also be thankful for playoff handcuffs. Otherwise he'd be ringless
It must be wonderful to know so much more about the business and game of MLB baseball than even those making millions of dollars and spending their entire lives in it.
