He's a past player, has many years as an assistant under good coaching and the one year he was a head coach he took a floundering, frustrated team and in half a season, had the best record in the league. I think I would trust him over any of the minds that thought it was best to draft JC over Grimes or even Hyland. Especially when you already drafted a 2 in the draft. Dude was a projected 2nd rounder. Will never get that ish. Just my 2. Sorry @Williamson
past players can often be some of the worst at judging talent the same ones that took JC are the same ones who took Sengun and Tari Eason outside of the lottery…they are also the same ones who got KJ Martin with the 52nd pick How much knowledge do u think Ime would have on all these prospects? He’s not a scout. He had no reason to pay attention to any of these guys until he got hired here barely a month ago, but we should trust him over the guys in the organization paid to go over mountains of information and game tape?
Maybe so. I guess we'll see what they do. Hopefully they don't jack it up. Adding 1 thing... We have no idea how much Udoka knows about these prospects. He wasn't working. Probably assumed he'd be coaching again. Who's to say he wasn't scouting guys himself. Just saying.
Udoka is surrounding himself with what he knows best, assistants from where he worked before, Spurs, Brooklyn, Celtics. Nothing wrong with that, he is not swinging for the fences, taking risks.. same with players I would think. He will be solid but anything better and beyond that, we'd have to see. In a good organization, usually the owner has a vision, the GM is hands on surrounding himself with someone like Jerry West, the coach does the rest. Maybe Ime plays the proverbial 'boss' in this instance.
My first thought was, is it Hot there or Cold there? Lol But I would entertain KMJ, Tate and Brooklyn 's 2024 #1
Meanwhile I'm ecstatic we didn't trade Jabari and Amen for Jaylen Brown. Maybe this take will age poorly, guess we'll see. Today I feel good about it though.
If a single summer league game made him alter his opinion of Jabari then what about the multiple regular season games of Green matching or exceeding Jabari's summer league game and how didn't that alter his opinion of Green? Dude is all over the place. No logical consistency. He's a narrative guy, not an analyst.
What is he reffering to when he says "they still havent paid him the money i dont know what's going on there." ???
Jaylen Brown is eligible for a max extension and the Celtics haven't given him the contract yet. Most people assume if they can't agree on terms for a max extension then the Celtics will trade Jaylen.
