But, but, but... Jabari is a bust, right? I'm going to remind some fans that Jabari is two months younger than Amen, for example. "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein
I had the MPJ comp going into the draft for Jabari, but these two games make me think that while he may never reach MPJ's shooting level, he definitely can be a more versatile player on offense. I think upside of Chris Bosh may be too optimistic, but at least even a poor-man's Bosh is a very useful 3rd or 4th guy on a championship team. Certainly a hell of a lot more optimistic about him than at any point during his rookie year.
Now the troll farm Bari hater club will claim its only summer league after nailing him to the cross last year for his poor summer league performance
Praying this transition well come regular season. I don't want to get too excited since it's summer league cause I remember John Lucas the third hooping it up in summer back then.
Jabari looks great when he actually gets touches.. but I don't know where he's gonna get his touches from playing on a team where so many dudes will demand the ball.
Whoever is the most consistent in their role for team success should get the shots or responsibility from game to game. Hot streaks are great, but you just have to maintain them for an 82-game season or know when to defer to your teammates to win. The next step for young players is consistency on both ends of the court, as long as the team is successful, numbers will take care of themselves.
People were talking KD in the game thread, but I'm actually seeing Tatum a bit. I think Jabari will be more physical than KD but will have less finesse. Underrated thing tonight: He made some great passes. Glad to see that part of his game developing because it was pretty terrible his rookie year.
Last year, Jabari was criticized that he could not dribble… today he was bring the ball down court, calling the offense plays and comfortably driving to the basket. He is a very good defender but not a shot blocker. He is a hard worker and you can see improvement from last year. In the regular season, he will not be the first option on the team…maybe the 3rd option? What if he have too many up and coming STARS on the team? Coaches need to find quality time with two or three stars to conform their skills. Amen, Jalen and Sengun are the 3 stars? Or is it Amen, Jalen and Jabari? Amen is the STRAW that stir the drink(talent), Jalen is going to average 30 point very soon. Every Championship team needs a big man, with elite passing and post skills-Sengun. Jabari- Being a 6’10 player, who can shoot at all three levels, elite defender and now showing play making abilities. We are going to surprise teams this season but in the future we are going to have to make tough decisions. What type of team do Ime want

Besides Green, I do not think anyone else on this team demands the ball as much to be effective. Jabari himself seems to show flashes of good passing and playing team ball in this summer league.
I would say the only things he really needs to work on is getting stronger and growing out his frame, getting better at C&S (no idea why he's so bad at this), and better handles and he'll be a great player.
And a bunch of members here on clutch fans should note that … we saw it happen with Jalen green the year before too!
