Anyone throwing out every trans or gay grooming for sexual abuse stat is foolish. They arent the biggest threat to children.

There are over 42 million survivors of sexual abuse in our country. 53% are abused by their biological fathers; 15% by stepfathers, and 8.8% by uncles. 11% of rape victims are raped by their fathers or stepfathers; another 16% are raped by other relatives. 70% of incarcerated sexual abusers knew their victims.

The scariest part is that 30% of sexual abuse is never reported.

Yup. Anyone who is sincerely concerned about protecting children from sexual abuse would first look long and hard at our male patriarchal system and organizations that defend and venerate the male patriarchal system such as Abrahamic religious communities or else they aren't serious about the issue

....and puts her life at risk for our country. Our troops deserve respect for their sacrifice, regardless of what gender or race they are.

I thank Major Jones for her service. Her commitment to the military is doing a lot more service for our country than the vast majority of posters on this site. (myself included)

That's 95% of service members though but I doubt you'd say that about a non combat service member that isn't trans.

Petty grunts make fun of non combat occupations like yourself here but it's worse with you as you didn't even do the most basic of military service anyways so you really have no place to speak.

I feel this way about all non-combat veterans (myself included), with the exception of perhaps someone foregoing a more lucrative income.

That's great. I'm glad you think your service was useless but make sure you bring that up not only when trans people are involved because it looks like you will only disparage non combat roles if it involves someone who doesn't follow your traditional social values.

Some people seem to have a lack of understanding about how the military works. The logistics, training, staff, support, and all the other departments are essential for all the soldiers on the battlefield to do their jobs. It's teamwork, and anyone on that team can be moved and put in areas of high risk, at any time. Without a military we are basically sitting ducks for someone like Putin to invade in his quest for global power.

These are the types that put cracks in the teamwork. Nothing worse than having someone on your team that thinks "certain soldiers" are less worthy of contributing, because of their gender or race. It's a part of the ugly side of history we have worked so hard as a country to get past.
