Rockets deal for Dillon Brooks (4 yrs/$86 million + incentives)

Well, that's a relief. I know a lot of us were hoping the Brooks deal included lots of incentives...

This is surely the dumbest contract in franchise history at the time of its signing, right? I mean we might've had worse contracts as a percentage of the cap versus production received at some point, but none of them looked this bad before the guy even stepped onto the court, right?

 

I mean I'm ready to fire Stone at this point. He's not one of the 30 best people possible for this job. This is incompetence on display.

 

Stone better be out of the country somewhere. He is going to be trolled mercilessly the next 24-48 hours.

Houston out: Washington, Garuba, Christopher, Martin, 5 SRPs (salaries ~9M per year)
Houston in: Brooks, Kaba, 2 SRPs (from Clippers) (salary ~20M per year)

His agent Kyrie Irving said there were six other meetings set up stone better take it or leave it.

 

Then Presti took mills to get TyTy and Garuba and will flip them later for even more picks.

This is reminiscent of the Lakers giving Mozgov and Luol Deng those massive contracts that were so obviously bad.

It’s almost like we were at a disadvantage with how much cap space we had available to spend.

Even if he plays really well and the cap keeps increasing, there’s just no way this contract (and trades attached to it) can really be even close to justifying.

 

getting bamboozled in an NBA trade will be called getting stoned.

seeing a bad trade will be called a stoner.

When an NBA GM is asking for picks the other GM will not give up he will say you don’t got the stones
