As much difficulty as Christopher and Washington had getting consistent playing time, the Rockets believed it would have become much more difficult for all four with the summer’s free agent additions. But the moves were also from agreements on trades when the Rockets needed to create the cap room to sign Brook Lopez. They did not need that cap space when Lopez opted to stay in Milwaukee.

“Obviously, we drafted them and thought very highly of them,” Stone said. “We still think very highly of them. We very intentionally drafted a bunch of young guys. As we transition to this next iteration, there couldn’t possibly be playing time for everyone. So, Alpha Kaba is an actual person?

 

From what I can tell he seems like a Clint Capela type of big. He can definitely play, averaged a double-double in 25mpg in EuroCup, which is the second-highest level of play in Europe after only EuroLeague. I expect if he ever comes over he'll be able to carve out a few years as a backup center.

I’m interested to see if Garuba makes it back. He was a helluva defender in the Olympics and seemed to me to fit the identity of the new coach.
