    They're tapered.

I'm saying what if by this year or next Tari is as good or better than DB we're still stuck with that contract. We'll see.

Just curious, did you like Harden when he was balling out? Do you think Draymond has been at all integral to the Warriors winnng? Harden used to pinch guys nutsacks. Draymond is the dirtiest player in the league. It is possible they overpaid him. They overpaid FVV and Landale as well. Hmmm, I wonder why. Maybe it’s because they had a salary floor to hit and nobody wanted to come play for a team in re-build mode. There also were teams that were interested. LA reportedly was offering 13m a year. There could have been other suitors that we don’t know about. You don’t know any more than me. The only thing I do know about Dillon is that he is a very good defensive player and we were awful at defense last year. I also know that his contract does nothing to kill our ability to come up with max contract space in the next 2 years. I just wish everybody would quit whining about it and see how it plays out.

We’re not stuck with anything. In two years and maybe even now 20m is the going rate for a good defensive role player. You guys act like we gave the guy the max. We also haven’t seen the details so it could be more tradeable in the 3rd or 4th year.

Ok. I get that logic. Not sure how many teams would sign on to that or not but ok. We'll definitely have depth.

There's no chance any team would trade for Brooks, while yes, he's a solid defensive role player.....he's also one of the worst offensive players in the league when it comes to offensive efficiency AND he demands to be featured on offense or he'll become a locker room problem.

That's simply not something any other team would want....which is why he didn't get any other offers. He got 2 other meetings and those teams IMMEDIATELY went other directions and didn't offer him anything.

While it's true, 20 mil a year isn't what it used to be, no one wants to pick up a locker room problem on a guaranteed deal.

I mean, getting 2 second rounders from the Clippers could be good if they collapse, but still not a huge fan of this deal. That being said, it's just slightly better than previously reported.

    https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...ton-rockets-free-agency-overview-18187042.php

“First, they’re really good basketball players who have won a lot of games and not by accident,” Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said. “We really wanted to add veteran players who still fit our timeline and knew how to win. And we think we accomplish that.”

“From our perspective, (Brooks’) body of work is something we’ve paid attention to and thought highly of. He has consistently guarded the opposing team’s best player and done as good a job as possible. That’s obviously a very valuable trait and the teams he was on were very good defensively and he was a huge part of it.”

Brooks’ final games with the Grizzlies brought notoriety for his attempt to goad LeBron James, a ploy that backfired, but Stone praised Brooks’ “day-in, day-out intensity and the edge he plays with.

“We really wanted to find guys like that, who will really bring an edge to our team. I think Fred does as well.”

This will go down as the worst trade of this decade for our franchise when all is said and done.

Hmmm, that's a bit dramatic. Harden trade is still up in the air, hopefully we end up with a high draft pick, otherwise that one would be the worse.

Hate that we made a absolutely horrible trade for Dillon Brooks to pay him 4 years and the dude doesn't even show up to support our team in the summer league. Instead he shows up to root for the Grizzlies.
