If you drop a penny on the road do you even bother to pick it up? Those guys are losers and will likely never be anything. Presti isn't Midas. Look at OKC's rosters over the last 3 years. There are 25 or so guys every year cause the don't mind cycling through these borderline NBa players and most of them like Ty Jerome and Mamidi Diakite and Melvin Frazier and Olivier Sarr just aren't worth more of an investment and are just let go. Tyty, Garuba, and Josh already went through that cycle for us and they weren't worth investing any further in.

So Stone took a shot and thought he landed Brook Lopez and got the space cleared for the signing but he went back to Milwaukee. Is that true? If so, won't hold these trades against him. He took a shot.

Back to my origional question, what the hell is he going to do with tyty. They already have a pg and a back up pg that tyty will never supplant

Maybe don’t make the TyTy pick (trade it) in the first place given that u drafted 4 guys the year before. Or…make the TyTy pick but play him ahead of Nix so you don’t tank his value. Or…if you trade TyTy don’t pay someone to take him off your hands; maybe showcase him in summer league and bump up his value. Lots of things Stone could have done rather than giving up a good 2nd rounder to move TyTy (who may still have a good nba future) off our roster.

ngl I totally forgot about SGA and Giddey, lol.

Presti better not make Stone give up more assets to get tyty and destiny back.. he might do it..

Again….this is fireable stuff. A competent owner would not allow this. Shocking incompetence for somebody who has one of only 30 jobs in the entire league.

I disagree when you say tyty, josh and destiny are losers. They never got a chance.

Gotta give some credit to Stone, I can honestly say this is the first time in 25 years I’ve had to draw a diagram to understand who got traded where and for what.

Maybe tyty sucks. He would not be the first clutchfan darling who would be that. Nix and house come to mind.

I guess he was talking about Micic-Giddey duo rather than Giddey-SGA.

If TyTy can learn one thing or two from Micic, he will be a starter in few years. Good luck to our former legend. Hope he comes back to Houston one day.

If TyTy was that bad that early and it was that obvious that he was garbage then why is that still not a Stone problem? It would be proof that the Rockets do not properly scout. It would be one thing if it was the late 2nd round but for a 1st rounder?? It’s inexcusable imo.

We also saw at points when he did play that he wasn’t THAT bad. The only big negative I saw was a lack of assertiveness. He was a little aloof but that doesn’t mean you are garbage and again that’s something that should be obvious with scouting.

There’s just no way to talk around this deal and that’s why it would benefit Stone to just stop treating the fans like idiots and level with us.

He was pick #29. People on this board really need to get a better grasp on the hit rate of low FRP. There’s a reason Stone went for a swap rather than another late FRP in the Gordon trade.

I get that late 1st rounders don’t usually turn out to be great players. And I’m okay taking a swing and miss. What u don’t do is pay someone to take your prospects.

to put this into perspective; we got a 2nd round pick each for Gary Bird and Bruno at the deadline. A rare example of positive asset management. There is no way that TyTy, Christopher, or Garuba would have netted any less than that return at the deadline. Isn’t that a fair assumption?

but again, we not only didn’t get any return on those players, we actually sacrificed several 2nd round picks to get them off our roster. That’s bad.

Sorry, but you just can’t get me to care that much about low draft picks and SRPs, especially when the guys we traded weren’t going to play (aside from KJM). You can literally buy SRPs, and we’ll have up to 10 SRPs over the next four drafts. This is all small potatoes compared and people are blowing out of proportion.

but 5 second round picks and 3 1st round prospects for nothing in return? Come on, that’s gotta be worth something.

We sent out 5 SRPs and received three in return. Again, we have up to ten SRPs over the next four drafts and all our FRPs going forward. I just don’t care at all about this small potatoes crap. The team is basically set and we have a ton of flexibility going forward.

i've been patient with Stone because he has drafted us a nice young core but this **** is head scratching.

    3 first round picks and 1 22 y/o on a great contract for ?????
