We have Ed Pinckney on the staff? There's a name i haven't heard since the early 90s. I'm pretty sure i got a bunch of repeats in my bball card collection of him in Boston. Good stuff.

I don’t know what Danuel House you watched - but the Danuel House I have watched since he was 16 years old has never been able to do the stuff Cam Whitmore did as an 18 year old last season.

Yeah - works in front office/scouting. One of the only actual basketball people in the organization.

Cam Whitmore is Dillon Brooks without the bad timing.

Aaron Miller was working with Cam and Jarace Walker before the draft. He gives some insight into Cam and how bad he wants to win and how competitive he is in this interview. Of course it's his trainer, so take it all with a grain (or many grains) of salt :

I thought this was a great interview; this guy seems to really know ball, and he knows how to explain things quite well.

I have very little doubt about Whitmore’s ability to shoot, drive and score. I do question his ability to pass.

Should at least have a middle outcome of Corey Maggette with upside of a star.

If we get Maggette out of him that’s a huge win

I actually liked how he played. He just double clutches every single time instead of just going up strong at the rim and finishing or drawing a foul. He also doesn't pass but he's young, that's fine.

Just can't believe some of y'all really wanted him over Amen. They're not even close.

He seems a little undersized. Athletic and can jump but was stopped at the rim several times.

If he eventually starts down the line it sure seems like Amen, Tari, and him will be able to switch everything. How about these guys to end the game on defense...

    VanVleet
    Amen
    Brooks
    Eason
    Jabari

    not bad

Whitmore was pretty much as advertised. He still needs to become a better passer, but the main thing that stood out to me is how hard he plays on both ends of the court. Between Tari, Brooks, whitmore and Tate the Rockets are always going to have at least one guy on the court who goes all out every possession.

I was getting Jaygup vibes from him today and I didn't like it. He's skilled but a bit small for those drives and needs to be a bit less of a ballhog.

I thought he looked fine. He’s 18. Yes, he looks 35, but the dude you just watched playing against NBA talent was only 18 years old. I’m not worried about him, like, even a little bit at all. He’s going to be around the league for a long time.
