Stone is the same guy who tried to give Oladipo a 2yr 45 million deal so it makes a lot of sense for Stone.

Maybe they'll squeeze Landale or Green into the room exception ($7.7m) by offering a bit more guaranteed money in year 2, that would leave us with about $12m.

Not sure we need it. Feel like it makes more sense to wait to see who doesn't get a deal in FA and grab that bargain later in the summer. Preferably a shot blocker.

It makes sense from the perspective that we had to hit the floor. It doesn't make sense that he didn't land Brook Lopez, nor any other notable center for that matter, yet he paid to get rid of 3 former FRPs that still have the "potential" label on them. I was initially trying to defend him since I figured, lets be patient and see if anything is tied to this, but from everything that has come out thus far, it really does not make any sense. I'm not losing sleep over the players we lost, don't think any one of them were future stars, but it doesn't make sense that we sent them out when we could of given a couple of them a chance to be coached (talking about TyTy and Usman).

I heard they did not squeeze Green in the room exception, we left so much money on the table. I honestly think with the excess of money we spent on Brooks, Landale and Green....pay Brooks on 16 million...pay Landale only 4 million...pay only Jeff 6 million.....we could have signed Austin Reaves!?

Yeah, I'm losing confidence in Stone's spending behavior. Concerning the former FRPs, it take time to develop young players in this league to see if they are good or not. Rockets do not have the time to develop every FRP right now in Stage 2. You have to cut you losses, and judge from your own eyes who is going to be a PLAYER in the NBA. My money is on Jalen, Sengun, Jabari, Cam ,Tari and Amen.

Dudes. We have a serious GM problem. This is Silas type awful. I'm losing hope in the Rockets as an organization.

This is honestly fireable stuff from Stone. Forget the actual names involved in these deals, it just shows clear lack of understanding about salary cap & asset management.

Exact opposite of what we watched Morey do for years.

    LMAO @ the outrage

I was told we are "only" 10Ms or so above the cap with all the new moves. I didnt realize 2nd rounders and room in the MLE meant so much to ClutchFans!

    Like it even matters.

There was no combination of available moves that was going to make the Rockets contenders this year, next year, or the following year.

Live picture of Stone handing out ridiculous money on contracts to non-star players:

    Again...

It's not about the relevance of the names. It's about the process itself. It's not outrage to want a GM to not show incompetence. There's only 30 of these jobs available.

So what is the incompetence? Getting played by Brook Lopez and his team? Undervaluing 2nd round picks? Giving Green an extra 2Ms that impacted cap space that this team wont need? The team needed to reach the salary floor right? How else should it have been done?

The rox have to prove themselves worthy of star players. Hopefully the young guys we have can become stars. I think that will happen before another star player comes to Houston.
