Its all about playing time in any professional sport. Practice will only do so much. These guys have access to top trainers from a young age. Jalen had training sessions with Steph and his guys and Luka while still in high school if anything - KPJ never had that until he could afford to pay for it himself.
It sounded otherworldy stupid so I simply opened and listened. He does not clearly say: "...Brooks is the 4 with Jock Landale at C" instead he says: "...Brooks is the 4 with Jock Landale."- pause and gets interrupted. They are completely different statemants. I think he did not mean Landale starting over Alperen, it is very unlikely. Maybe listen and decide for yourselves rather than judging based on someone else's ears.
Lol dude I can make all sorts of excuses. Green played 14 Gleague bubble games between high school and the NBA in a last second make shift Covid Gleague tournament. At the end of the day Green not only had more opportunities, he was more efficient in his first row years than KPJ and that's with being thrown into the fire and not being eased into a role.
Kpj will play a new position and it will be interesting to see how he reacts, both psychologically and basketballwise. He is the better catch and shoot player, and he will play his natural position, but that doesn't necessarily mean that his play will translate well, because he'll have to do a lot of learning and I don't see him as a good learner. So the previous year's stats in my opinion are less relevant for kpj. It is to some extent true for Green as well, since the role Silas gives to green was like a play-off role, where you have to create everything. But his transition should be much easier.
KPJ was tasked with changing positions! How would Jalen fare if tasked with the same? Im not trying to knock Jalen at all I love the kid and feel he will be a great player, but lost in the shuffle is everyone enjoying the KPJ sucks vibe and getting upset when he's shown to be equal to other players who are adored. If KPJ only needed to cut, drive and shoot without needing to be cerebral he would be a more lethal player too and that is what we are all about to find out. If the SG spot is up for grabs this should bring out the best in both players.
Just a few minutes prior to that (~38:00), Jake refers to Jock as the Houston Rockets starting center ($8M). I watched the whole segment, and I took the segment where he throws out the lineup exactly the same way as that Tweet (especially when they follow up by saying all the top draft picks will be coming off the bench). Now I think Jake is just...wrong...about this, but to me, he is 100% saying that Jock will start over Sengun, along with FVV/JG/KPJ/Brooks being the other starters. That seems pretty clear to me.
goblet heel elevated until you feel your core caving in (probably around 50-75LB dumbells) any heavier weight the exercise gets clunky. front squats are great and can add some more weight but in my program I do squat cleans on a different day so I feel like I don't need to add front squats. landmine squats are good if you're coming off injury but i think there are better options. adding a 1 leg squat variation like a heel-elevated pistol or bulgarian split would be a great addition. but any squats where you're achieving as much range of motion (safely) is going to the best for your joints which is paramount for injury prevention. if your joints are aching after any variation, tone down the weight. you can get a pump and build strength with little to no weight if you choose a high ROM exercise.
100% agreed. The truth of the matter is that Sengun is getting benched for Big Jay Huff: (I'm trolling too, though who knows with this organization)
When did Silas create an alter-ego? And why is he still commenting on Rockets line ups? Silas-level stupid is right around how bad this comment is.
He's on the Rockets SL team. Prior to that, he played a few NBA games with the Wizards last year, but mostly with their G league. I actually wouldn't mind giving him a two-way and possibly 3rd center minutes, but depends on his SL play (and maybe he finds another roster he likes better). Or he'll be the starting center because he's a rim protector.
I never said anything about KPJ sucking. I'm saying Green was significantly better than KPJ in their respective first two years.
Thanks for that! Yeah Im not as spry as I once was so I have to be mindful of my own body. Squatting heavy weight as a young man really did a number on my joints. I enjoy the landmine squat, the split bulgarian on the Smith machine and a basic kettlebell lunge in my current routine. Trying to convince my gym to invest in a vertical leg press machine.
You got me! I still say that playing actual games holds infinitely more weight and importance than practice time - Didnt AI teach us that!?
