Team OPS is rising at least Losing Altuve doesn't help but we should be Top 10 within a week if Diaz mostly catches
Last year Pressly pitched the equivalent of a perfect game plus a few innings after the Yankee's blown save. This year a 10 inning no hitter and counting since the Nationals series.
The Astros have also picked up ground on the Orioles the last few days. Even if they don't win their division, they want to finish with the best record out of all the wild card teams.
Last 10 Rangers.. 4-6 Astros.. 8-2 Angels.. 3-7 Stros are surging despite all the injuries while others struggle. Keep it up
It was a very crappy lineup. Luckily we were going up against terrible pitching. Hindsighting is always easy.
True. But it was with Meyers going 0-3, and one of Dusty's doghouse guys (Diaz) going 2-4 with two home runs. You could argue that it's kind of a wash since Julks went 2-3 with a walk and two runs scored. But bottom line, Diaz and Chas should both be in the lineup most days, despite Dusty's hesitancy. I think today did nothing but reinforce that point.
It has amazed me that this team, held together with duck tape and bailing wire is 10+ games over .500. We complain a bit because we are a touch spoiled. But what this team is doing is kind of amazing. I worry about pitching, not our bats so much. Although Breggy is batting less then Abreu that is a concern. I don't see his swagger, and those pop ups and DPs are killing us. All say he is a 2nd half magician. Don't see it this year. Hope to be wrong. It takes alot changing diapers and hawking your food line.
Diaz has started 25 of 32 games since June 1st and ph/played for Maldy in 1 other. I'd say he's out of the doghouse
