Chas OPS only trails Yordan, Altuve and Tucker on the 2023 Astros Yordan and Altuve are out It's stupid as **** to not be playing Chas right now.

I agree with this. Meyers or Julks needs to be moved, thats the only way Johnie is gonna treat Chas as an everyday player. Dude has the 4th best OPS on the team and that is including Yordan who is out and Altuve who is out today and might be for a while
He didn't have Julks or Meyers for most of last season and Chas still found himself frequently on the bench. Dusty will find a way to make sure he stays part time.
Meyers needs to be traded. Gotta fool proof things for Dusty. After the WS Chaz had and the great catch that was instrumental in helping win another WS, to not starting him the 1st game of the season. Dusty will only play Chaz when they have to win a game. Brown is going to have to pull a Click if he wants Chaz to play more consistently. Which is sad. The fact that Dusty plays Julks more than Chaz tells you all you need to know about what Dusty thinks of Chaz. SMH
If any OF is traded, it needs to be Julks. Though he may not bring much back in return. 1) until Yordan is back, all 3 are needed, so that they can cover LF, CF, and DH otherwise Dusty will use that as an excuse to DH Diaz and keep him from catching. 2) This team has plenty of depth in LF but losing Meyers really limits CF. As for Chas, I agree he needs to be elevated to starter, but he has played 8 of the last 9 games. Everyone needs a day off to keep the bench players fresh.
Reading contect clues suggests Chas will have started at most 7 of 11 games after the 1st pitch is thrown today or basically he's still starting roughly 2 out every three games and gotten at least one PH PA recently.
That was a pretty big disrespect to not play him that first game. He had a good post season including the dong off of Cole.
If we are not getting a solid pitcher in return, then I think keeping Meyers is fine. We haven't been the healthiest of teams so far.
Sounds like they are just going to sit him until after the All Star break - which is probably a good idea.
Before today, Chas started 7 and played in 8 of the past 9. I hope that continues. Regardless, I wish he started today but can accept a reason why every other player is in the lineup and therefore he sits today. As for opening day. That was complete BS. Not starting him at least one game (should have been both) during the WS celebration festivities.
