KPJ is fine dude. The maturation process is there for everyone to see, but the narrative is that he's going to go postal LOL. He's already on record saying he's fine with whatever role is in store for him and that he's placing his trust in Udoka. What else can he do??

The worry with Ime is that he was a role player in the NBA, and sometimes those guys fill their rosters with players who remind themselves of him, can he coach players that are way more talented than him, will they follow and for how long.

The erosion of a coach and his credibility starts at practice, players know if a player is better than a starter, and if the coach continues to start his favorite over a better player, it will eventually lead to him being fired as he loses the locker room.

Ime has put Brooks on the team, already there are questions about whether he is better than say EASON even.....and if IME is really about competition as any GREAT coach should be, he will say no spots are solidified, training camp is wide open....and see who steps up and who steps back.

Where did he say he's fine with whatever role is in store for him? He didn't say that in the video you posted.

    Exactly.

It was the organization's decision not to sign a backup PG to lessen the risk, to not bring in a mentor player, to start him, to give him freedom rather than install plays, to take so long to run offense through Sengun. Just bringing Augustin at the start of the season would have made a world of difference for him but that would have resulted in a few more wins so it was a no-go.

All we discovered is he doesn't have the vision to be a PG nor is he a natural leader. It's not his fault he's not those things.

Him and his GF broke up. He was posting sad things on instagram, then went silent for a bit. I’m worried about how that may impact him on and off the court

Buddy its right there in the written quote and easily discernible with just a little deductive reasoning. Are you being serious or just pulling my leg?

It's not right there. Depends on what the question was that he answered. I couldn't hear the question.

So you think this is vague and non commital to his role "whatever that might be" ??? Well - ok then.

“I trust Ime [Udoka] with that. With whatever we’ve got right now, whoever comes in, whoever stays… I’m with it. Whoever is part of the lineup, we’ll be ready.”

He talks about the team changes and not about changes he will be making himself. It's not necessarily the same thing. Him being "with it" in regards to other people being moved around isn't the same as him being "with it" in regards to coming off the bench.

Now, if the question was specifically about the starting lineup, then I would give it the charitable interpretation that you're giving. But not knowing the question, we're just guessing.

That's sad to hear, it seemed like she was a really good influence on him. I remember lots of social media posts about "keeping her man motivated" and getting him in the gym, putting in the work, etc etc.

Yep, but he knows what he has to do, but sometimes being sad takes a lot of energy out of you, hope he is in the gym working off the stress.

Do you really count a break-up boo boo as a challenge?
Wow, the lengths you guys will go to just to spoil these 20-sth millionaire athletes...

Of course it is, life's experiences are a challenge - you don't know what these guys are going through off the court and it all has an effect on them.

They may be wealthy, but they are also human beings.

Interesting to see folks bemoaning not getting more shooting but trashing Porter non stop. Fortunately the professionals know his value

So your interpretation was that he would be dissatisfied or become a problem with a new role from that? Ok I guess.

The Rockets cannot catch a break.......next to Fred VV and Siakam struggled to reach young players in Toronto.

It is staggering, people made fun of him all year, and want to now say, it was only about him being a PG, which is only partially true.

He did EXACTLY what the org asked him to do, did it fairly well, and now the org is pivoting to a shorter version of KPJ who is a worse shooter overall.

FVV is NOT a PG, never has been one, never will be one, he is a COMBO scoring guard who plays best as an off the ball shooter - sound familiar?

Now we hear all these people heaping praise on a player who is pretty much the same as KPJ with slightly better ball protection but a lot better D, who is also 6 years older....

KPJ at 29 if he continues his trajectory will be way better than FVV at 29....
