I saw that trailer in front of Indy. It is RARE that I think a trailer for a superhero movie was bad. That **** was TERRIBLE.

My prediction is this will actually be pretty good but will bomb in terms of money it makes.

It’s a shame with what is happening nowadays with studios having a meltdown about super hero movie box office losses. Some or actually most of these are perfectly decent movies. It’s just that people don’t feel they have to see a film in theaters right away, and are willing to wait on steaming.

I think the answer has to be studios figuring out how to make movies for less. I think that’s part of why they are Pennie pinching writers leading to a strike which is cutting money in the worst possible place.

this is true with me. i used to go to the premium theaters with couches and stuff to watch all superhero movies prior to endgame. now I'll wait till streaming and even then i still haven't watched a few. i did watch guardians 3 cus people said it's a cry fest. they lied, i didn't cry, so won't be doing that again

This is a 4 year old thread. Hmm...

Not digging the trailer or poster, but maybe this movie isn't targeted for me.

When Tom Holland has a better ass than you there is no need to see a bikini scene. Brie was born with dude genes.

I'll see it at some point, I actually thought the trailer for it wasn't terrible, I'm just not sure I'll go to the movies for it.

The problem also for this movie is that you have to watch 2 shows and a movie to understand what’s going on and I have no interest at all in Ms.Marvel. Just looks like a Freaky Friday ripoff with 3 women

I think Marvel is freaking out about this fact quite a bit. Hence the delay in releasing the movie, and putting the Ms. Marvel series on ABC later this Summer.

I did watch Ms. Marvel and it's an interesting series that tells you alot about the phase 4 issues at hand. You had the first two episodes really showcase the MCU in a very specific genre that was done really well for who it's intended audience was (think the teens that would be into shows like Disney Zombies, etc.) but then in the writing process they had to put Ms. Marvel in the larger MCU gameplan, and it then became more of a traditional MCU Disney plus series. It couldn't just be it's own thing and be better off because of it.... and now the Marvels will probably suffer as a movie (from a budget/revenue standpoint) because of this.

But by any stretch, I don't think Ms. Marvel as a series was bad at all, and I certainly wouldn't assume The Marvels will be bad at all. I personally could care less about how much profit Bob Iger gets that allows him to live whatever lifestyle he lives. I care mostly about the writers, and creative people having freedom to keep making good content, and not have to worry about Iger cutting their lives work because they over spent on one show I don't care about, and because of that the show I do want to continue gets axed.

Their central planning committee is too bogged down by politics and a snowball of tracking old stories. So now if a movie wants to add someone fun, they have to dig into 3/4 other running projects and also past work. There's a lot less Easter eggs and mystery characters in this phase. Most of the Easter eggs are now d+series... Which sux for any non subscriber who is thinking about watching Marvels movie.

There was an article about fx artists starting to rebel. D made them do last minute changes on the fly and gave the impression they didn't have much planned or set in the beginning...
