For f*** sake Dusty where is Chas? I used to be one of those dudes that would always roll his eyes when people would complain about Dusty's lineups, but now I am fully on board the b**** about Dusty train. For what it's worth, the Tigers version of Chas is Kerry Carpenter, and fans hate Hinch for sitting him all the time.
I actually am very happy with it. Diaz is catching again. Pena is back in the lineup. Abreu gets a DH day for a bit of rest (older player who has played a lot) Meyers and Julks both had multi hit games yesterday and get a chance to build on that. Madris gets another start vs a RHP to see if he can be a weapon and fill a weakness. He hasn't played in the past 5 games, and needs to play some if he's on the roster. Chas has played 8 of the last 9 games so its not like Dusty is wasting him on the bench. Yes, I like this a lot.
So dumb to sit our hottest bat when Altuve and Yordan are out. Happy at least Yainer gets to catch France again. They've been a great rookie duo. I'm guessing Pena is so far down the order to ease him back in?
8th inning. Game at 4-4 Rockies bring in a LHP to face Madris with the go ahead runner at 2nd and 1 out. Dusty brings in Chas to PH for Madris.
I just think Dusty wanted to give Abreu a rest, but couldn't take his bat out of the lineup so had to DH him. That means he had to choose 2 of Chas, Julks, and Meyers. Julks is coming off a 4 hit game. Meyers had 2 hits and needs to put his slump behind him. The Astros are better when Meyers is playing well. Chas has played 8 of the past 9 games so a day off shouldn't hurt him.
If Chas is playing it’s more likely the Astros are up 5-4 and getting to win it in the 9th instead of going to extras
it’s time to let meyers and julks fight each other for playing time. Leave Chas out of it, he needs to play everyday and has earned that. This, despite having been treated like the step child. He has earned it, the others have not yet.
