People don't understand the reason the Astros don't just fall apart is Dusty Baker. Is he perfect? No. It whatever going on between him chaz stupid? Yes. However, he knows his team. If the Astros were to DFA Maldy, there would be a riot in the locker room. The teammates trust Maldy and when you have a bunch of young pitchers, you need a vet catcher...even if he is not what he used to be. Maldy is gone after the season. The Astros are giving him one last hurrah.

 

The biggest takeaway in this game is the blown save by Will Smith.

If this can be his downward spiral moment, then that's a division changer.

They must get Javier back to form, whatever it takes
