Why not? His the best scorer & shooter apart from FVV, can play SG and SF don't see how his minutes decrease that much.

 

cause you didn't give out $80 mil to brooks to not be a 30+ min player. You didn't max out FVV to not play 30+ mins. Youre not replacing Green and thinking him playing less than 30 mins a game. if he does then that tracks towards him stinking it up. Eason will earn his time on the floor just off his hustle alone. Is your top 5 draft pick not even worth of spot rotation minutes at guard. Is Cam a bust that hes just sitting on the bench? he damn well wants to show having him slip down to the end of the 1st round was a mistake. Tate isn't going to concede and just want to sit on the bench all day.

The avenues towards playing 30 mins just don't exist for kpj. this will definitely be a significant adjustment for him to have to accept willingly. His room for error has been so wide open the last several years. he could pout, get mad, be selfish, play badly and the consequences were minimal. Its definitely not going to be like that with Ime at the helm and coming off the bench in a much more limited role

 

I kind of feel the same. I’m sure I’ll regret saying that when KPJ has a random implosion after cracks under Ime’s pressure. Jalen has to take a quantum leap forward in efficiency and his minutes will get cut if it doesn’t. I can’t ever really see him being an impactful defensive player but who knows…

 

FVV is a Rocket people you are going to find out real quick that size and down year in 3pt shooting means nothing. You are going to rejoice in the fact that we chose him over Harden.

 

I still think KPJ gets heavy minutes most likely as 6th man.

How was Ime with younger players at Boston? Seriously asking as I don't know if he will give them minutes game 1 or make them earn it.

It's all up for debate until the pre season starts at least I suppose.

I see a real possibility Whitmore plays GLeague, MAYBE Thompson if his shot is that bad while they work on it for reps.

Agreed on that. I don’t really see minutes for Whitmore since they are keeping Tate. I don’t really know what Amen’s role will be until he fixes his jumper and tightens up his defensive fundamentals. Hopefully that happens quickly with Ime.

 

How? If there's no room for minutes day 1 why not get them reps?

 

Whitmore has a logjam of vets in front of him and he was the youngest player in the draft. It makes sense for him to get g league reps unless he is better than advertised

 

because true "elite" prospects don't get sent to the gleague

 

he does but doesn't mean he needs to be sent to the gleague, if he can contribute in spot minutes in the NBA. He has the ability to do plenty right now. and we know injuries will always come into play at some point

 

It's tough because he's only 18. He needs reps. If he's just a third stringer I'd rather him be developing in the G-League, but if he's getting at least 14-15 minutes every game, then sure, he should stay with the team.

its a red flag and it doesnt end well if you're supposed to be a "elite" prospect.

 

Biggest need we had, looks exactly what the doctor ordered. And he's young enough that if our kids do blow up in the next 2 years we've probably got a decent shot of keeping him a bit longer when we're trying to contend.
