This is another bad trade in a long line of bad trades and poor asset management by our big ego armature GM. Wanted to be judged by the offseason…I’m judging. The Stone era has been a disaster.

Two first round picks that never was even given a chance under sht silas and a dummy gm.

We wasted playing time for the likes of nix and co. Got rid of them and then proceed to trade our youngsters away for literally nothing

I haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if this has already been posted.

    Alpha stuff:

    6'10", 242 lbs, 7'5" wingspan, 9'3" standing reach.

If you think 'm basing my opinion on a highlight or 2, you obviously don't know me. I've had League pass since 98 ish and I've played d1 ball also, not that it matters a whole lot, I guess. The goal is to build and take steps towards the playoffs, then improve and become a championship contender. Its not overnight, but it shouldn't take long to become a playoff contender. I mean, the Thunder are light years ahead of Rockets and they've traded Durant,Westbrook and Harden. Nobody on the Rockets is close to those 3 in terms of talent and they're already ahead of Rockets. They also had a vet in Chris Paul who they also traded and still developed a better culture than the Rockets. That said, let me tackle the Green vs Mobley debate from my pov.
Green does nothing for the team if he's not scoring effeciently. Notice I stated effecient which is something he has trouble doing. I was watching the game when Sengun got the rebound, Green clapping for the ball, didn't get it and doesn't even get into the frame of the play at all. When teammates see that and he's supposed to be one of your young stars, how can a coach preach to the other players? People are quick to blame Silas, but that has 0 to do with him. You never see that from Mobley. Mobley is already an elite defender, he plays hard also. He can impact the game through his effort and talent, something Green hasn't. So this treadmill you speak of can't be acheived with a player like Green and to a lesser extent KPJ. So with all the money available, they can't even get a 2nd tier star and is forced to get a player like FVV, whom I actually like. Cleveland on the other hand trades for players like Mitchell, drafts Garland and have a guy like Allen to help speed up the process toward the championship. The Rockets are light years from even making the playoffs 3 years after trading Harden.

Preach it brother! The Rockets are 2 years away from being 2 years away - at a minimum. Rockets might win 35 games this next year but they set themselves back a year or two if they want to be a championship contender.

It's sad to see UG and TyTy plus draft considerations for Alpha Kaba. It's a bad trade.

Championship contender? How about trying to get in the playoff game 1st. They're 3 years away from that.

Exactly! They made a very "mid" attempt to build a team to just compete for the playoffs (and failed), and constrained their attempts to build long term. Free agency is a horrible place to try to build a team under new cap reality.

Maybe there is still something coming. So far, I still don't see why they have to give away two guys with decent potential plus future draft assets for nothing.

agreed. This one is the biggest head scratcher for me. There wasn’t another team that wanted 2 recent first rounders for nothing instead of adding picks?

I read the thread title as Rockets trade for Alpha Kappa and thought it was a funny way to say luxury cap savings. Houston has gone from Phi Slamma Jamma to Alpha Kappa.

There is no reason to dump these guys at this point. What's the supposed move happening?

These guys are perfectly suited to be our third string PG/Center.

Ask yourself why the trade wasn’t made for CC and why we signed Jock and then you have the answer.

Thing is, if there's a deal using the cap space made available through this mega-trade, F5 is semi-worthless until July 6th.

Unless Burt or ch44 catch wind of something before then.
