Problem with Capela is now you are going to have to give up a pick. Not being able to utilize our cap space is a pretty big blow. Saying no to the best free agent available was a pretty big blunder, only to overpay the alternative, then get denied by most of the rest is really bad.
Onyeka Okongwu who they drafted very high a few years back. He split minutes down the middle with Capela last year and frankly out played him. He’s their future and they already locked him up. Capela’s cap hold is preventing them from making other moves.
Well even if we disagree on Green, i'd rather start Amen and have KPj at the 3. Bari is the one who was supposed to be a knock down shooter, not Jalen. Jalen needs to be cutting and attacking off the dribble. KPj needs to be moving off ball and playing as a catch and shoot 3 and D. Alpi needs to get his reps from 3 and pass to cutters which Green and Amen can do. I know they had to spend, but I'd rather have spent our money like the Kings did getting the Euro MVP to come over and some defense off the bench.
If there's a silver lining to losing out on Lopez, it's this. I'm sure I wasn't the only Rockets fan who was worried about how Sengun was going to be getting minutes and if he would have to come off the bench. He's been the best Rocket on the floor the last two years, and I do think he's earned the right to start. Adding rim protection and defense is still a must, but it's OK to get more of that from the bench.
Tatum joined a team that was already good. It’s not a fair comp. They had veterans around them and learned from them. The only recent team I can remember actually learning on their own were the OKC big 3 and no one on this team has Harden talent let alone Russ or KD. It’s funny how you come to that conclusion that they need time when the young guys were screaming that they needed guidance and leadership on the court, Jalen specifically was saying that. They sign one of the most steady PGs and it’s a disaster because they overpaid. You have to overpay when you’re the worst team in the league. You guys insist Ime knows how to get the best out of them yet won’t acknowledge that getting Fred was clearly an Ime move. He knows better than all of us.
What? We all agree Sengun should be our starting Center…we need a interior defender, interior presence…not Garuba…not Jabari…a seasoned, veteran center who can rebound and block shots.
Is ClutchFans working on laptops? I can only get it to load on the phone which is the opposite of Twitter issues. Fun day.
My God. The NBA "salary cap" is such a joke. We had 1 offer turned down, and that was for Lopez to return to his team he won a chip with. Let's not act like we were just throwing offers to everyone. Now is when we see what happens in the trade market.
While I wanted Lopez, I really think he would have started over Sengun, and I’m excited to see the Sengun/FVV pairing.
No, our two year deal to FVV was turned down. We had to add a third year, which has significant implications down the line. Its been a pretty disasterous free agency for us to be honest.
