People are ignoring the context of the op. The idea was getting a 2 way player would lead to earlier success. There are a lot of bad teams that score a bunch. We were dead last in defense last year.

In hindsight, adding Jabari and not Paolo mitigates the issue. At the time of the op it looked like we were getting Paolo and his less than stellar defense.

I'm fine with how it turned out but i think we got lucky...

Cade Cunningham averaged 16/6/5 on 4 TOs and TS 49% in his first 50% of games played.

He was only significantly better in terms of raw numbers, since the media tends to completely ignore TOs and scoring efficiency for rookies.

I think this year's draft Top 5 would be better than last year's draft Top 5 even though 2021 was waaaay more overhyped. I was not super impressed by any of the 2021 top picks.

It will be interesting to follow how these draft classes progress their careers.

I have this fun man-to-man comparison:
    1. Cade vs Banchero. Both #1 picks. Similar facial expressions and hair. Good ball skills.
    2. Mobley vs Jabari. Long lean forwards. Fathers former ball players. Both #3 picks
    3. Barnes vs Keegan Murray. 6-8 Forwards with good all-around skills. Good intangibles. Mature. Both #4 picks
    4. J. Green vs Ivey. Hyper-athletic 6-4 SGs Similar first names.
    5. J.Suggs vs Chet. Both went to Gonzaga. To me personally these two were the most questionable before the draft...

I think 2022 goes 5-0 vs 2021 when all is said and done, in my modest opinion.

    I think Green > Mobley
Jabari > Mobley because he will be a better two way player, but this will really be close. I think Mobley’s is pretty much what he will always be. I don’t think he has the desire to be great like Jabari does.
Chet> Suggs if he ever gets to play consistently.
    Banchero > Cade
    Barnes > Murray
    So 2021 by a hair.

Chet Holmgren Talent is not a Bust.

Chet Holmgren Malnutrition and being severely underweight, and Bone Density.
    Could become a sad story.

The Physicality of the Center Position takes a toll every game.
The amount of hits the Center receives is unbelievable and some Fouls don't get called.

He's trolling. He's upset that people don't look upon him fondly because he judges human character based off nail polish.

They are going to use him as a sf like Durant is used...

That's his best shot because it mitigates the issues in the paint.

We got lucky Fertita hired Stone who loved Green as a prospect more than Mobley.

Green is already playing at an all star level in only his 2nd year and st the same age Mobley was last year.

I'm not gonna call for his head for being homosexual but his ball handling skills better be good next season.

I agree regrets are a waste of time UNLESS you learn from them. In this case the lesson is “use your effing head and draft the obviously superior prospect Mobley.” I hated the pick then and now. Of course I’m rooting for Jalen to prove me wrong but his defense, court vision, and ball handling need to improve so much to reach his higher outcomes. It’s definitely less than 50/50 that he reaches neutral D. The other two maybe maybe.
