Yes, but we only need to spend 90% of the cap by the first day of the regular season. So if we ignore all the unimpressive free agents now and the right deal that Plowman is referring to doesn't come along, we get to overpay the remaining scraps of the FA heap to meet the minimum. That's his plan, right?

 

TBH I never put too much thought into his proposals after his push for Ben Simmons. Thankfully he's come around on the fact that Simmons would NOT be a good "superstar" for us.

that is a requirement starting in 2024-25 for teams that did not pay the luxury tax the previous season to receive their portion of the luxury tax

 

I think the CBA calls for a minimum payroll. You can't just hold cap space waiting for the right player. But yes, this year's free agent class is suboptimal. We're going to end up overpaying for a fringe all-star because we have to.

 

Im good with them hopefully signing Brook Lopez and Dylan Brooks and taking back some expiring somehow with trades for KMJ and Tate.

 

I hardly think the Rockets are looking for a superstar. But FVV 29 years old (20ppg/7apg) is not as bad as people make it out to seem. The team needs an experienced PG to help our young talent. I hope the Rockets can sign him.

 

He had a bad year. His ts% last year was almost identical to Westbrook his year as a rocket...

If he bounces back he's worth the contract... if he takes another dip he's not playable.
