I like Conley also, but he is the only competent PG for Minnesota. I would think a trade would have to send a decent point guard back. Maybe a 3 team trade with Washington
Proof always shows up when people think so-and-so from the past couldn't play today. "Stockton couldn't defend a high school player today! Plumber!" Stockton would be just as annoying today as he was then with his 6'1, 6'0 wingspan but tough as nails and dirty af and stronger than he looks. What a POS, but i respect him and hope he chokes on Malone's snake skin dildo, with all due resepct.
No! Take all the trash being talked about the other free agents and multiply that by 10 if Gabe Vincent becomes an actual Rocket's target. He had a decent run in the playoffs, but has been a below replacement player through his 4 years in the league.
FVV plays somewhat similar to his former teammate, Rockets legend Kyle Lowry. Just hardnosed and tough, uses his strength to his advantage, makes plays for others, knocks down three pointers. His size makes it difficult for him to finish in the paint, but he makes up for it in other ways, taking care of the ball, avoiding foul trouble, racking up assists.
I really like FVV game. I watched him a lot at Witchita State and have been a fan of him since. He’s developed into a really quality player and we have to spend our money. Is he a bonafied superstar? Absolutely not, but he’ll get us closer to a play in spot so we don’t have to gamble being bad AND giving our pick away to the Thunder.
Yeah, when Van Vleet was at Wichita State he consistently caught the spectator’s eye with consistent, top-level play. Definitely an NCAA Tournament standout for several years to the point that I was none too surprised when he started finding success at the pro-level in Toronto. Superstar? Not quite, and people can definitely debate the price, but mostly I would agree with your sentiments.
