Alright, want yalls opinions… I’ve got a really close friend who’s a diehard cardinals fan. He can often allow his cardinal fandom to get in the way of thinking rationally. He’s absolutely convinced that it was a d*ck move by the Astros to “attack” Burleson (a position player) the way they did in their ABs in the 9th inning. Said they should have just gone up there, taken two strikes, and then taken a cut and just get the inning over with. I firmly believe there’s nothing wrong with the way they attacked their ABs in the 9th, but wanted to get some of yalls opinion on it. He and I rarely see eye to eye on Astros/Cardinals so I’m curious to hear other thoughts.
Your friend is soft and needs to get over the fact that his team just took a beating so bad, they had to put a position player in to pitch. Why should they take it easy?
The idea sounds like good sportsmanship, but I've never heard it in 30 years of watching baseball. Is it a concept historically? In basketball, the winning team (who's clearly about to win) not shooting in the final seconds is different because basketball stats are less effected vs baseball plate appearances
Who the **** is "Burleson"? "Best Fans In Baseball", my ass. How embarassing to the players if the other team just comes out and clowns it take, take, take....RH hitting LH, and such. You don't think the guy on the mound is dying to get those guys out? **** all that. Don't wanna get hit? Don't toe the rubber. eta:
Tell that cards fan, it's been a long time coming for us to shell wainwright and because he got shelled, along with other various relievers, they had to put in a position player, to proceed to get shelled. Also tell him, to get ****ed nerd.
i read somewhere (maybe here, maybe reddit) that Yainer Diaz call a lot of fastball compare to maldy where it mix up more with the breaking ball. because of this, they prefer maldy because it doesn't take a major toll on young pitcher's arms. i didn't get to watch this game (i was hooping), but for those who did, did yainer appear to call more fastballs compare to breaking ball? i say bullshiz if i'm being honest.
Why would I have solutions lol. I am a fan, I watch sports to get away from my job where I actually have to come up with solutions. I don't waste my time or brain energy coming up solutions to problems where my input will never be taken into account
