I kind of feel bad for the younger Houston fans that never got to see Hakeem play and came up in the Harden era and he became their sports hero. Now following him from team to team hoping he’ll find that missing “thing” he doesn’t have when he’s needed most in the playoffs. Defending him at every turn. I really hope we can again find a player who has superstar talent along with a superstar heart and mindset so folks can really experience what it’s like.
Harden def not a Heat culture a guy, but I want harden bullied. I want someone to not let him get his way. Show him there is another way to hoop. He would probably just ask for a trade from the heat anyway.
You'd have to wonder if Nick Nurse would try for VanVleet, but that would require a third team, as Harden wouldn't have opted in to go to Toronto. Harden clearly knows where he's headed. Wish we did.
What happened here was that James would have come back to Houston on a 4 year fully guaranteed max, but the Rockets were making it clear they weren't doing that, and Philly was only going to give him a CP3-type of deal where it's not fully guaranteed past year 1, so James said, **** it, if I'm not getting max money I'll just play for less on a superteam and get my ring.
James opted out because cthe Sixers and Rockets did not have the offer he was seeking. The Rockets are targeting FVV. What if FVV re-signs with the Raptors? The Rockets could initiate a trade with the Sixers in such a scenario, right? This is all just speculation.
