What happened to the whole "Pena hits better in the 2 hole" thing? Did they abandon that because he started struggling in that spot? I don't know the recent data for how he (or the offense as a whole) performs with batting 2nd vs further down the lineup.

Apparently he's only an MVP in the 2 spot when Yordan is batting 3rd.

I was talking trash about him to a friend last night and he immediately got a double. Then on his next bat I assumed he would strike out and he got a single. So I think he’s hitting like .500 now :)

As long as he doesn't take away from Chas's playing while he's hitting close to 800nagainst bothe righties and lefties this season.

But of course Baker has to disrespect Chas even when he gets playing time by putting him 9th. He's only the 3 best active hitter on the team right now.

He is basically the exact same hitter as he was last year. He will go on hot streaks (like he did in the playoffs and earlier this season).

That was my thought too. Why can’t madris or julks bat 9th? Oh well

Cards pitchers have only had fourteen 1,2,3 first innings this season.

Wainwright has the lowest K% of any pitcher

If umpires can’t get that call right…. At the beginning of the game where they’re not fatigued, and a pitcher who throws less than 80 mph…. And it was an away pitch from a lefty… that’s just a further indictment that they’re going to have to be replaced.

    Wainwright reminds me of Grienke.

His changeup isn’t faster than his fastball though…

I feel like he gets more fastballs in front of Yordan which he hits better.

I thought for sure Cardinal fans were the brighest of the bright when it comes to BB fans but between the in vogue (moronic) booing of Altuve and the wave I've changed my opinion.....

Astros may not want to knock out Wainwright early?
