From a culture standpoint, Van Vleet has no ties to Houston and if he is not producing can be bought out without hard feelings.

Honestly, trading a pick and some junk for Harden and Tobias Harris would make sense. Philly would then have the space to sign VanVleet.

    PG: Harden / Thompson
    SG: Green / Porter, Jr.
    SF: Harris / Whitmore
    PF: Smith, Jr. / Eason
    C: Sengun / Garuba

Not a bad way to compete right now plus roll the cap space over to next year.

Harden, PG, and Kawhi with coach Ty Lue? Contender for sure

Sometimes feels like Harden is one of the highest IQ players ever to grace an NBA court, but one of the dumbest career strategists ever. Does not seem to understand it takes some time to lose big battles with your teammates and develop chemistry before winning a title. Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh all in their prime could not win a title in their first season. Kevin Durant joined a 73-win team in order to win it in his first season.

In truth when I look at it through a different lens it makes sense: he always always always is seeking the highest amount of money while winning takes a backseat to that. He still tries to win, but it's not #1 priority. If you believed that Harden cares more about career earnings ranking than championships, every move he's ever made makes sense. If he doesn't get traded to Houston, this would be heavily cemented. He only wanted to see if he could get a max and was willing to leave a contender for a 20 win team to get that money. Good for him, but if that's true it makes sense why his ability to push through pressure is flimsy. Money is a very unstable and inconsistent motivator relative to self-achievement (aka infinite motivation).

I really hope he ends up with the Clippers that seems like a good situation for him. He's a guy who can get you lots of regular season wins, some surprise victories in the playoffs and obviously amazing at running an offense. George helps you do that too plus defense. Kawhi is your closer in the playoffs so you don't have to worry about pressure situations and consistent playoff performances. They seem like a good fit, and those 3 need to be in a big 3 rather than a big 2.

With this latest news, not sure how Houston can be considered in the running for Harden anymore. Philly wants a ransom/superstar back in exchange. The Rockets don't have the pieces

Inevitable. James was always going to be a Laker one day.

That makes way too much sense. No way Stone considers this option.

What? 76ers better be glad they are getting something. People are saying the Clippers are going to trade Mann and Norman Powell and not Paul George. Harden could have opt out and they would have received nothing….Harden helped them out

Did you just type Kawhi and healthy in the same sentence?

If we do not get VanVleet we need to go after Harden, but I been hearing the Clippers want to play in a SUPERTEAM again
