    I understand that point of view. He has size for a PG. He dominated the G-League at 19 & 20. With a good system does he turn into a winning player? Either he or TyTy has to go... so some young pup will be cut. If the Rockets think TyTy can be used to get the decent cost controlled starting point guard in a trade, then they may keep Daishen as the third point guard.
    Speaking of @BimaThug, we need an overview of the new salary cap rules. I understand the NBA hasn't even distributed the final rules, but a lot of trade activity may go down before the new league season starts because the new rules seem kind of onerous for tax paying teams.

    Too much of the blame goes to Silas. Last year’s roster was garbage because Stone and Fertitta wanted it to be that way so they could tank for Wemby or Scoot…and we still missed out. Stone made no effort to bring in veterans and told veteran players that they would not play (e.g. Pat Bev) if they came here. All this talk about acquiring veterans and nothing being given anymore should’ve happened last year.

    i dont want to get into another argument about Silas. But just know I think Silas was absolute dumpster juice.

    Ime flew into Houston saying Silas used the players wrong. I have never heard another coach even hint at the last coach not using players the correct way. For Ime to even hint at the last regime being trash and misguided makes me think the incompetence was egregious.

    Ime will also have veterans to work with. They talked about signing James Harden and trading for an established star in his coaching interview for a reason. All the stuff Ime said that happened last year that could be ‘cleaned up’; Ime is going to use a deeper bench containing veterans as his mop to do that cleaning. Silas didn’t have that luxury - for tanking reasons.

    If other players get the excuse that they will be better after Silas then I think he does, too. He's cheap, young, and played well in the G league. Give him another year.

    I legimately like his potential, but he's not an NBA level player right now. I think he can be, but his game didn't develop at all under Silas. He needs to put in a lot of hard work before he gets another NBA contract.
