Stone is a lawyer who has zero basketball background.

    And athleticism isn’t talent.
    Basketball skill is talent

I don't think the FO has a problem with Sengun, they just have a problem of too many guys and a lot of cap space. I don't think Ime has a problem with Sengun if he doesn't make him a cornerstone on offense.

I get the potential with Sengun, but he's still very much TBD like all of our high draft picks.

I feel ya bro, but remember we've traded eventual HOF big men like Elvin Hayes and Moses Malone in their primes.

    Two huge mistakes.

Leaking criticism of Sengun shouldn't be a harbinger for trading him and its also a poor technique for any leader.

All of our young players have areas they must work on. Not one of them is close to a finished product.

I'm all for players earning their time, but that should mean no favorites. Kids will make mistakes, but if its for lack of effort, I hope Ime sets there ass on the bench.

Let's not fall pray to innuendo, but lets get fired up for SL and beyond.

By every metric he is a good defender. Just not in a traditional way for centers

Gotta trust that a winning organization knows what they’re doing.

Existing outside of the “archetype” makes it difficult for a player to break through to open people’s minds.

For instance, Jabari Smith is Joe Smith reincarnated, with an attractive archetype that is easy to place and easy to imagine on a championship roster as a role player.

Alperen Sengun is going to have an uphill battle getting people to see his greatness, and that’s fine. At a time, there were many folks saying that Steph was too frail, Barkley was too short, and Jokic was too slow.

    We’ll see.

I think Stone played some college ball at a small school

No, I have a good feeling about him.

Stone and the Fertittas - not so much.

Fortunately for Denver they had the patience, the foresight and were willing to accept Jokic and his flaws while giving him time to develop.

Who or what is that winning organization?

    The Tilman Fertitta Rockets?
    The Rafael Stone Rockets?
    The Stephen Silas Rockets?

    These aren’t Leslie Alexander’s Rockets.
    These aren’t Daryl Morey’s Rockets.

True but if Denver's FO believed that not being a defensive big negated any other talent and did everything to halt his ascension, then Jokic doesn't start becoming Jokic at age 22. Ends up doing it somewhere else.

    Yes.

I have no idea if Eli ever played. But I read that Daryl rates him extremely highly (and I haven't seen Daryl (whom I respect a lot) heap similar praise upon Stone).

Also, If Udoka benches Jabari or Sengun, it doesn’t mean that that is the correct move and that we should lay down and take it, as Clutch suggests.

Udoka hasn’t done much. I like what I see so far, but let’s let him win some games and develop some talent in Houston before we crown his ass.

I think half the teams in the NBA wouldn’t have bought in on Jokic like Denver did. Kudos to them for recognizing the talent and handing the keys over to that flabby b*stard that doesn’t even love basketball all that much.
