Lopez - 2 years, $50M ($26M, $24M - possible TO on year 2 or not fully guaranteed $) Cam - 3 years, $90M ($35M, $30M, $25M - possible TO on year 3 or not fully guaranteed $) should price out DET & BRK Trade Tate + 2 SRPS (2024 + 2026) to WSH for Monte Morris Still have some $$$ left over + Room Exemption for a 3rd center (Thomas Bryant!) What am I missing here? LOL... I know... I know... I wish it was this simple. Definitely seems possible tho .
Absolutely. Grant would be a great addition. Lopez as a starter sets us back in development. We need a backup center that is willing to come off the bench. Hartenstein would be ideal, but an unlikely get.

I'm trying to think of an offseason outcome I'd like less than Houston's starting point guard next season being Russell Westbrook, and I'm struggling. The very thought of it makes my spine shiver.
Here's the problem, you are making up some position where I said I would only trade him straight up for a star. I'm not replying any further since you are just making things up...
I like Monte Morris as a trade option. I would hope Stone is at least lobbing in an offer... Pros: TS% of 57-58%. Low usage, high assists/turnover ratio (>2.5). He is only signed for one more year, so he would be a rental. Send the Wizards KMJ and a second round pick. Or send them TyTy + second round pick. If Amen looks like the future, just let Monte move on or you could resign him. Cons: He isn't a front line starter, so he probably wouldn't be the only Point guard type brought in...
At this point, I'm thinking something like this: To Heat 2024 2nd round pick To Rockets 2026 top 3 protected #1 pick Kyle Lowry This assumes Lowry is willing to mentor Amen unlike the John Wall situation... We add a future pick with light protections and get a short term veteran for point guard. I prefer this over FVV for multiple years... The Heat get a lot of cap flexibility for this to add someone like Lillard...
Rockets are looking for a leader to help with the young players, they are getting FVV. Toronto will everything they can but Houston can outspend them and Raptor’s reporters have said FVV is looking for a short high paying contract. I think Houston is going to give him 40 million for two years and knock Toronto out because they are also trying resign Jakob Poeltl. He have 63 millions? 80 million for two years for FVV. 23 millions left so we cut Tate(6.7 million) We have close around 30 million? 44 million for 2 years for Brook Lopez. We then have under 10 million so I would trade TyTy and Martin. To get Dillion Brooks or Bruce Bowen we have to get rid of KPJ. However we need KPJ to be our firepower on our bench. Amen, KPJ, Tari, Lopez and Christopher or Cam would be great but who would be our starting SF. We need a DEFENSIVE STOPPER. Question? How do we get Brooks or Bowen without cutting KPJ??? We are close to a playoff team.
There is no chance of that happening. So when I see how close we are to the favorite, it makes me feel better about those Dillon Brooks odds.
Yes, but for the sake of argument, Fred VanVleet is only 6' and looks like he is going to cost 3 or 4 times the amount that Carter would. And, regardless, all either of them are doing is keeping the seat warm for Thompson to hopefully take over in a season or 2.
