Right wingers love platitudic solutions like "we need better fathers". Because it removes responsibility from governance because they know there isn't a legislative way to "make better fathers".

In reality "better fathers" are created whetere there are things like robust healthcare services, and strong social safety nets that don't allow young males to slip through the cracks and prevent them from being "good fathers".

They'll never address how we make better fathers outside normative public service announcements about being good fathers.

He's so good at that. The understanding of rights and history of the constitution is so lacking among most politicians.

I do not believe that the statement "we need better fathers" is platitudinous nor do I think parenting in general is a partisan topic

You know why it's non-partisan? Because it deflects from systemic economic system issues with platitudes that place all responsibility towards the poor and misfortuned. So of course the wealthy class likes it when these platitudes win the hearts and minds of commoners.

Wealthy people love seeing blue collar white workers blame things like wealth inequality amongst races on "lack of fathers". They know their framing is winning.

I think there are laws that could help reduce the number of fatherless families and promote stronger fathers and families. For instance, the government could support universal education and healthcare, improve access to mental health services, grant reasonable time off to care for newborns, strengthen social safety nets, and reduce the incidence of unwanted pregnancies, among other things. However, many of these measures are typically opposed by Republicans. Therefore, when the Right advocates for "less fatherless families" or "better fathers," it often seems like more of a political blame game than a genuine effort to solve problems.

Stewart has been operating this way for decades. Take hours of pretaped footage and slice and dice it down to a few minutes to cast your subject in the worst light.

Basically the opposite of a Joe Rogan podcast.

Always make your own recording when talking to Stewart

That guy was terrible at answering Stewart's questions. There are obvious answers he could have given, such as, "The responsibility under the 2nd Amendment is not to shoot people, which is already illegal." "The leading cause of death of children in America is abortion, by orders of magnitude more than guns." It's tough to be put on the spot and answer questions though, so I have some sympathy for the guy.

Why is life valuable? Answer without involving the concept of a soul or higher being creating us.

Wait, that cant be right. You hire a guy to clean your pool and then you shoot at him when he is there working................did the guy come in the middle of the night or something to clean the pool? Something doesnt add up, you know the pool is getting cleaned and you fire 30 rounds? I thought stand your ground was if you are confronted with an individual and feared for your life..............the shooter was inside the house.

Expand title 2 to include rifles under the National Firearms Act.

Hopefully this pool guy can take the owner to court and sue the **** out of him.

Civil accountability is the surest route to gun control with our current law set. Pass laws that allow people to sue with a high minimum judgement the suppliers of weapons used in illegal acts. That's the dealers, individuals and in some cases manufacturers. This will immediately cause anyone selling a gun to take a long pause to make a judgement call on prospective customers.

It was night (9pm). The pool cleaner was running late on pools to clean. He had worked for that house for 6 months. He had already run off when the guy started blasting away with his assault rifle.
