@rocketsjudoka and @Sweet Lou 4 2 - I liked your replies because you brought up some good points not necessarily because I totally agree- in large part. It is an audience that they want to tap into, but I don't think they realize that there would be complications from both sides of the divide - I agree it's about the green. It's not about the rainbow. - well said - and once too much complications from both sides happens then you will likely see less support. it stops being worth the effort when the green isn't happening- totally see it
Sure there’s a backlash against “woke” marketing but I don’t think it’s nearly as big as many think it is. I’m a Target shareholder and Target is a big employer here in Mn and while they’ve had some recent down quarters that appears to match other brick and mortar retailers such as Walgreens. Target has been a sponsor of Twin Cities Pride for years and they had some good quarters too during that time. If I wokeness was such a drag on corporate profits they would’ve stopped sponsoring Pride but were there this past weekend. Also as a Twin Cities based company there is a both a lot of support for LGBTQ in this area so both Target’s market and much of their workforce support Target sponsoring Pride. If they didn’t do that they would possibly face an internal protest that they would consider more costly than an external backlash. Besides companies perceived as being more politically Liberal leaning companies like Fox News, Chick Fil’A, and Cracker Barrel are either celebrating Pride and or engaged in DEI shows that “Wokeness” isn’t just something being forced on the American public by the “Socialist”. Those companies recognize that there is a market to be tapped. More than that it shows that in the market the culture war has already been lost for those who oppose “wokeness”.
This is more evidence though of the invisible hand working. As you note it’s not a top down imposition of “wokeness” but the actions of many in the corporate structure.

Scary stuff. That shows how extreme right wing they are. MTG is too right wing already. If a coup instigator, LGBTQ hater, Putin defender, Trump defending traitor isn't right wing enough for them, then the worse is yet to come in that party.
